  1. I did look at the lower part which holds the strut to the control arm, bolt pattern looks to be the same. It sure looks like you could replace the datsun b210 top hat to the rx7 first gen strut. Ggzilla says they wont fit, I know most definitely hes got more experience in datsuns than I do. I just thought it be something different if someone has done this swap with little or no modification. Im going to keep doing research and measurments on these rx7 struts.
  2. Does anyone know if anyone has done a mazda rx7 first generation front strut swap in a datsun b210? Ive been looking at some front struts at a local junk yard from a early rx7 and it likes like to me that the struts may fit the b210 with very small modification, I would like to know if someone out there with a datsun has done this kind of swap succesfully.
  3. I bled the master cylinder first then all the wheels and still is spongy plus my brake light stays on, ive ran out of ideas
  4. I have a problem with my brakes they feel really spongy loose, my brake master cylinder is new so is my brake booster. I checked all brake cylinders and all are fine none are leaking. Could my proportional valve be bad?
  5. I was looking to buy a 1977 datsun b210 gx, but as I looked at it I seen on top of the car that it has a sunroof. I am not to familiar with the b210 gx, does anyone know if some came from the factory with sunroof, because ive seen many without.
  6. Does anyone have an upper dash pad for a 76 B210? Or if anyone is parting out their B210 please let me know. Thanks
  7. i checked for vacuum leaks with the carb cleaner, didnt find any changes. I then moved on the the next step like you said DR. and removed the screw for the idle and sprayed car cleaner, put it back on and started running good. Thanks everyone for your help!
  8. My engine does have a Weber DGV, I took the old stock carb off awhile ago. Could i spray some brake cleaner in where the idle jet goes in?
  9. when i start it up it will only stay running if i pull the trottle to keep the RPM high and if i let it go engine shuts off. Im thinkin it might be the idle jet because i cant adjust the screw, if i screw it out to the left it dies. Just thinking about it i never installed a new fuel filter. What are the recommendations to clean the idle jet?
  10. Yes DatzenMike got it right, i had and extra part which is a condensor so i replaced it and it fire right up. But i hav a new problem my datsun wont stay running unless i pull back the choke, and i try to turn the idle mixture and it seem to not help at all to raise the RPM. Does anyone know what might cause that?
  11. Yes i have 12 volts to the coil and yes its a points ignition. So you guys are saying to by pass or hot wire it straight to the positive side coil or to the ballast and that would give me some juice to fire it up and will let me determine bad wires is what i have, that sounds like a brilliant idea i am going to try that tomorrow and let you guys know.
  12. My battery is fully charged, but wont start due to weak spark. I pulled the plug wire that goes from the ignition coil to the rotor and put a spark plug in it and checked if im getting spark which starts out as a strong spark but becomes weak. Battery is good all ignition components check ok even the gaps. Could it be a bad ignition coil? Ive heard that a coil going bad will cause a low intensity spark.
  13. My battery was a little drained, ill recharge it today and check it out later today. My choke is set.
  14. My coil im guesing is factory and has never been replaced, does anyone know what ohms should resistance be? So the points gap should be at 0.22 and the spark plug gaps be at 0.32 right? Every connection that ive checked is firm and tight. Everything is new except the coil and ballast. Also my distributor doesnt have external dual points, my engine is an A14
