    My 72 521

Sorry but it's my truck now haha and it's gonna stay that way.
  3. What color stained glass paint is that? And if its different from the yellow, where did you get it? Almost diggin the amber color more than the bright yellow. Your truck is looking good though.

Sorry been away for a bit. I still have the bumperettes at home in a tote in the garage, the mustang seats arent too bad but it could be better, not bad for free though. The truck hasnt changed much since then, ive been concentrating on my 67 mustang mostly and rotate daily driving the 521 and my 01 dodge.
  5. I think he's trying to sell it so painting the truck probably isn't gonna happen, but anyway royal sierras green is my green now, so no twinsies haha jk I'm gonna spray mine by the end of the summer so camo green can be up for grabs.
  6. Thanks hang but that's not me haha thanks for trying though.
  7. Hang- I didn't see it in any of the pics, some of them in this thread are blocked by photobucket, oh well. But yeah I drove in at a little before noon on Saturday.
  8. Royal- I got 2 near complete parts trucks from the guy in yamco about 6 months ago, the ad he has on now is for what's left, 2 not complete trucks but some usable parts none the less, and for cheap. I can look and see if there was any decent headlight bezels I pulled from one of them, I can't remember now, I know I don't have a tail gate though. And the coils are fine as long as they don't poke through the bed floor haha.
  9. Congrats on the find, and it's another previously bright blue one to match a certain green one you speak of lol. Once you start working on it and if you need any L16 parts let me know, I picked up a couple parts trucks a while back that both had motor/ trannies in them. Good luck on your second go- round.
  10. The show was great, I didn't get to stay very long though, sad face. Can I make a request? Anyone have a decent pic of a camo green 521 with bronze chev rally's? That's mine and I'd like a good pic from the show, I was parked towards the bleachers and was there on Saturday at like noon. Any help would be sweet.

Got some more done this past weekend. Patched the drivers side floor pan under the drivers feet, installed a new speedo cable, put my 3 3/4" tach back in classic knee knocker style, got the instrument cluster back in, found and installed the horn button for my z car steering wheel, installed new window run channel seals, and the big improvement- putting in a set of 67 mustang bucket seats that came from my 67 coupe, with new upholstery too. These almost fell into place with little modification to the mounts that were already in the truck for the previous buckets that came in the truck when I bought it. The foam in the seats weren't too bad so they were left alone, but I got the new covers on, and what a difference free seats make.

Yeah I didn't want a real small sidewall tire so it had to be slammed on the bump stops to look good. Ive seen past pics of the truck and the bronze color on the wheels looked cool to me so i put em back that way. at some point this summer I'm gonna strip off the olive green and paint the truck. It's gonna be white, only cause the paint is free to me, should look way better though.

Today I took the 521 out for it's first legal drive. Got tags and insurance on it Friday, and drove it from my shop in sandy, to my house and around clackamas. All seems to be well, I'm gonna daily it this week to check it out for any bugs, then call it good enough to drive on a regular basis, it's pretty fun too.
  14. Now that it's been mentioned, does look a lot like a hako style spoiler modded to fit a 521, kinda cool. The truck is nice but has features that need to be changed, window stickers for sure, and the frontier style wheels, personally not a fan. I'm digging the white though, I'm actually thinking of painting my 70 521 white right now, the paint is free. And I'd have to say tanker has one of the cleanest trucks on the forum and/ or period. Just different strokes for different folks for sure.
  15. I detect a bit of hate? lol
