  1. I'm sorry, i meant to say "mid-70's" 620. I was looking into entire axle swaps and i found that later v-6 hardbodies and the pathfinders had the H233B axle with mostly 4.375 gear ratios in them... What i need to know is the dimensions of that axle and spring mounts, and e-brake cable types to match everything up to my truck. I figured i would have to get a driveline cut and welded with matching ends on it. Does the H233B have the larger 4-bolt drivline or is it something totally different? Plan on going to the junk yard again this week to poke around and find possible matches and to take pics.
  2. Alright i lied, not the last question. Went to puul-n-save and took apart a mid-60's 620 rear axle and the gear ratio was 4.11 and it said "N2" on the top of the housing, mine says "N1". So it won't work for mine. Also, there was no tag on the passenger fender in the engine bay, so i couldn't figure what gear ratio it was before tearing into it. Are there any other ways to identify the ratio? Or... could i swap out the entire rear axle and the front diff off from another later truck to fix my problem and upgrade to better (and more LSD options) gear boxes?
  3. One Last Question for this thread. The 2WD and the 4x4 drivelines, One type is solid, i see this on most 2WD trucks. I assume the 4x4 drivelines have the slider joint in them, is this correct? My truck came with a solid driveline, unattached and without the yokes, so this is why i am confused. Thanks again!

  5. Hey everyone, I really need some help here, I just tore apart my entire rear axle becuase the pinion wouldn't grab anything, and i found it was totally stripped with a broken tooth/spline. I believe my diff is a H190, but i am not sure. My truck is a 1981.5 4x4 KC. The Diff has a welded back housing plate, the only ID i could find on it was this "1TSE" with a "A" below it inbetween the '1' and the 'T' above (on the back housing). The ringear is 190mm/7.5" Outside diameter and it has 35 teeth/splines. The Pinion gear 'had' 8 teeth/splines which are all but gone now and is 8.125" long with a diameter at the spline valleys of 1.375". The spyder gears are fine amazingly, but i don't know what ratio the diff is and i can't find the Ring and Pinion gears anywhere! I need to know if there is a place/person to buy a good set from that will work in my diff or if there is another diff/axle assembly from another 720 truck, be it RWD or 4x4 of the same/another year that will work. I could really use this information and any other help! Thanks in advance!
  6. Well that sucks. I need to rebuild it then, i can't find any axles from that year range and gear ratio. I've never dove into diff's before, what parts/seals/etc do i need? And where can i buy them? Also, can i change the flange on my larger driveshaft to fit the older style one?
  7. Okay, so i went to pull an save to get my missing rear driveline and also got the two slip yokes, the front slip yoke fits fine, the rear one is to big! I guess the driveline i got is the larger size...But my main problem right now is that my rear diff is toast, i drain the oil and it had alot of shavings in it. The original rear slip yoke spins all the way around without grabbing anything... I can't find a rebuild kit. If there is one out there, please let me know. My other option and more appealing to me, is to swap axels from another year in pull and save. What years are interchangible (gear and ratio is compatible) with my 1981.5 4x4 720? This is one of the last things i need done before i can finally drive this thing.
  8. Well i am new to this forum, so heres the truck specs... I'll update as i go... Any advice is great as well as part resources! I'll post pics Eventually!! I'll be on here about 2-4 times a Month. Specs: 1981/1982 Nissan/Datsun 4x4 King Cab (Deluxe). Its been sitting for 15 years... It has 126,236 miles on it, What It Needs: Right now, it needs: floor board repair, turn signal lenses, horn and turn signals don't work, front rotor, some misc. stuff and paint. Whats Been done: New Battery + Clamps, Rebuilt carb (waiting for new choke pulloff), rebuilt the head + new spark plugs/rock auto gaskets/valve seals, got a driveline and slip yokes for it, got a new window/headlight/door/etc, i flushed and replaced all oils with Schaeffer Synthetic oils, new fuel filter, greased front end and drivelines (with synthetic), Installed a thread insert in the bad spark plug holes. I have paperwork that proves it has had (within the last 30,000-40,000 miles) the transmission and alternator rebuilt, has a new exhaust system, and some new wiring or a full new harness, had past brake/wheel bearing work done, etc. Currently i am going through both front wheels, regreasing the bearings and replacing the seals and a rotor and the brake pads.. i need to find a rotor for a good price. Also installing the rear drivline and slip yokes, and fixing the floor pan and snading stuff and painting. Once i'm dont with that i will ut in the new window and seal, put in new hinges (which i do not know how to do?) and the door. Then tune the sucker and see and it drive and what kind of milage it gets. Anyone have a source for solid (non vented) front disc rotor for a good price? Also looking for front end rubber boot (balljoints/cv/etc)? How do you value a vehicle? What do you guys think i could sell this thing for? (i have $1,200 into it plus about 100 hours.)
