  1. NO!!!!!!!!! Negative wire from Batt= goes to=ENGINE!! Make sure it is really grounded-use a lock washer (2) on the bolt securing the ground to engine!! 1 above cable & 1 below to block!! The alt. ground should be to block =also!! The one alt ground is going into elect wire bundle to dash -u must always have a ground wore from body to block also-alt neede addl. wire from it to block too. all wires other than battery cables are usually small wires-10/ 16 gague wires. Remember - motor mounts are rubber!! will not allow any grounding thry engine to chassis!!
  2. fuel @ carb?? check fuel pump output??
  3. well I pulled one off - cant identify it- yet i know i bought these from ="Discount Tire"!!
  4. I have the same "stellie" wheels ur inquiring about ---on my 1956 chev pickup!! ^ lugs too- i bought them in the 80's or 90's & been good wheels -i will go out & try & identify them -reply later.
  5. Today = my new 2 me 720 -changing carb to another (OEM) due to p o letting engine get rained on in bed of truck-froze the carb butterflys!1 -Then hook up exhaust pipe @ manifold= Bleed the new clutck master , lines & slave . Get trans , diff & xfer case full of gear oil!! Then see if this thing will drive ok?? engine i rebuilt runs good & is in 1st class shape now!! Cant wait to drive this thing!!
  6. Clean head & block surfaces-Clean- like mom does the dished-spotless!! Now- some will agree with me & some not-here goes- from building engines -many years - I always use a product called - K&W -coppercoat-SPRAY ONE!! used for sealing head gasket surfaces!! I dont care if the gasket is coated or not!! spray the block, head & the actual head gasket!! then install -- torque all bolts in proper sequence & enjoy!! You can also use a block/radiator sealer -i like "Bars leak" even without the sealer in radiator- Ill bet you will never blow another gead gasket!! Coppercoat works!! Ive never =ever had any head gasket blow after i used the coppercoat stuff!! thats been now over 50 years!! Just used it on my napz 82 engine & my chev 383 build!! Happy Datsunnin!!
  7. This truck i saw when I bought my 82 720 from the seller! Lots of work done on this one!! its =NICE!! hes asking $2000.00 for all !!!!!!!!!!!!! Craigs list =Spokane , Wa. http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/4653603886.html

    seats

i did have to drill 2 mounting holes as standard mounts move seats too far forward-im a big guy!!
  9. I need to know what are the 2 relays for & power that ARE -Mounted into the fuse panel??all origional 720. cant find them on electrical diagram fuse panel wiring ske. Drivers side fuse panel.

    seats

Seats-720 i bought a set of "Saturn" buckets seats & they bolt right into my truck--NO MODS at all!!
  11. Ok heres the final= starter is (open) in solenoid area- got another starter!! works great now. I did trace the wiring from Fuse panel -to starter (ign, switch) and goes from there directly to starter solenoid. I also replaced all fuses & cleaned the fuse box area too. There is no relay in that system.!! The feed to fuse block area is from battery via the (@ battery) the fuseable links!! to fuse panel. Check that also.
  12. well-? still Bum Foozled!!!! I have learned -that the stsrter I removed from this engine was from a 1980-510 with =Automaric!! Now -the actual 720 starter for this truck =locates the solenoid very close to the engine block!! so close -I can not see the solenoid wire or get access to it!! I have now ordered the 510 starter (automatic tranny.) that locates the solenoid farther away from the block!! Then i can see & work on the thing. I'm also in process= have this am --- run my remote starter to the solenoid wire where the wire bundle connector is below battery-& find all i get is the solenoid clicking (small noise /click) sporatically @ the starter & NO!! cranking as yet. I did unplug all 3 wire bundle connectors that are below the battery / w/s washer bottle & checked for corosion (none) & cleaned & lubed them. I also have no clicking sound coming from the fuse panel on drivers side-I did unplug the 2 relays & plug them back in!! Maybe I should have bought a TOYOTA!!??---
  13. I will try a remote starter switch today. I have load tested the battery & checked it even with a hydrometer. all good.-What is confusing to me is under the drivers side dash area =( fuse panel-im guessing?) i can hear a clicking when key is turned to start /crank. Yet im informed there is NO relay in wiring system? So now ill measure voltage @ the start circuit @ key switch & @ starter solenoid terminal !! Not even a corroded wire in the trucks system!! even new battery cables!! Likely I'll need a relay in the system !!
