  1. Thanks for the thoughts, guys. Datzenmike, I was already in the market for getting that hose between the block vent and the intake but damned if any online stores have them in stock. I found something that MIGHT work at a local parts store but I'll have to investigate further. I don't tend to drive her hard, like ever. I'll get to getting a hose on there but after driving to my storage unit yesterday,I do think that I've got a bigger problem that just that hose. I've driven the old girl during all seasons for several years and have never seen this. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for any and all comments and ideas!
  2. Yeah, I'm figuring that it's the rings but I've never dealt with this before and wanted to get the community's thoughts. Not that I'm scared to do the job, I just don't really have a place to do the work. But I guess I'll just have to do with what I've got. Odometer reads 28k so it could be 128k,228k.... but I'm guessing 128. I haven't tested compression.
  3. Hey folks. My '72 521 daily driver has started pushing what looks like a grayish smoke from the open block vent AND the vent on my valve cover. There was always a little tiny tiny bit coming from the block vent but now there is alot! Like to the point of embarrassment. I've only driven her a couple of time since it started. So what do you guys think it could be? Please don't say rings....

    Post Your 521.

My girl, Crispy. We go camping, to the beach, and also to work every day.
  5. I know this must be in the depths here somewhere but I'd be gorramed if I could find it... I'm replacing the clutch on my (for the most part) all stock '72 521. I'm looking for part numbers on the pilot bushing and release bearing. I keep coming up with conflicting results. Help me, Ratsun Gurus. You're my only hope. :)
  6. As a fellow 521er, I was loving this thread! To see it end like this makes me so sad. I lost my 76 280 to a Suburban. Fu€k stupid big American cars and fu€k the seemingly VAST majority of divers out there who should have never been given a license to drive. Sorry for the loss and glad you made it out okay.
  7. Even if that's so, I'll find one somewhere.
  8. Excellent! I shall be awaiting your next post.
  9. Yep. Been down this road before looking for a coolant hose for my bike. I'll find something. I just want it to look right is all.
  10. Sorry for not updating folks. Cross member is out. Oil pan is currently sitting on my desk getting the treatment (treatment = sanding, cleaning and painting). Thanks again laotsu for the offered hand. I'm sure I'll be calling in that offer at some point :)
  11. Oops. All that rant earlier was about my fuel sender inquiry by Mr. Baggins :). As for the hose, I'm gonna head to my local auto parts place after work today and piece something together. Shouldn't be TOO difficult. Like you said, lucky its the long one. I've a few leads to follow to get my paws on a new one.
  12. Nissanparts.cc don't got it. Fella in Canada at New-datsun-parts.com has one but for a bit of coin. Stands to reason, low quantity 'n all. I've got her rigged up for now but at some point I'd like to get me a new one. I'm overhauling my motor right now. Scrubbing and cleaning and scrubbing and cleaning and PAINTING :-)
  13. Okay, I've been scouring the threads but can't seem to find what I need. I'm curious if anyone knows if ANY of the parts places online carry the long heater house out of my 521. Part number B7021-B2000. I can def rig something that will hold up fine but I want the original. Sure, I can send out 20 e-mails to all of these parts houses and wait a week for a response but I figured that some of the fine folks here at Ratsun may be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks guys and gals :)
