  1. thanks! she runs mint, got a vacuum leak right now but i haven't bother to fix it because i don't have plates on it. i been rolling around on my old plates from my bug but had to take them off once i really started kroozin her around to see how it is with new set up. i been using a repair plate but cant tie it up too much.. probably go to the registry next week maybe even this week depending on "hurriance sandy" or whatever :poop:
  2. so i made a lot of progress on the truck but have been too busy to update this thread. anyway, my trucks back on the road and running better than ever now. the new exhaust sounds great too! i ran into a few cracked hoses that needed replacing and it took longer than expected to get the hose that i needed but all is well now and shes back!. now on to some pics
  3. ya i already stated that i'll be keeping my L16 manifold or at least i thought i did. i took a dremel to it and cleaned out some rough edges and what not and cleaned it all up and painted it. got my carb today. but didnt get it til about 5-6 and it was already getting dark at that point. i got a few things done today but should be driving the truck by tomorrow im hoping. will post pics of the intake, new painted valve cover, exhaust mani, and new carb tomorrow.. stay tuned
  4. its not a bad drive, a little over 3 hours. and the 521 runs mint and has low mileage so im not worried about it making it there i just dont know if i will have all the parts needed and it back together by tomorrow. fingers crossed that my carb comes in the mail today because i have everything else. i didn't end up find a L20 intake mani so im going with mine for now, just cleaning it all up and smoothin out some places inside, a mild port if you will. if the carb comes today i'll be at the house putting in work all day, still have to put everything back together and a few other odds and ends that i been doing since the trucks been sitting. even if the carb isn't here today i plan to put mostly everything back together. hopefully i'll have more pictures up later today/tonght
  5. dash looks good man inspiring me to do something similar on my mine!
  6. is this hood still available?? PM'd
  7. made a little progress today.. the sand blasting cabinet that is at the shop is missing a few fittings so i had to drive to the cape and i gave the manifold to my friend and he did it on his lunch break and gave it back to me.. came out great! i took the valve cover off and cleaned and stripped and scuffed it all up. i put one coat of paint on and didn't get to finish it. i'll be finishing the paint on it tomorrow and i got an idea up my sleeve about the exhaust manifold so we'll see how that comes out tomorrow. still waiting on the gasket for the intake/exhaust so i can do some more work on the intake, also still waiting for the carb. hopefully i'll have my truck back and running by the weekend because i got to go to new york and would love to drive the 521 there. now on to some pics!
  8. havent got much done on the truck.. got some good riding done over the weekend. i am still waiting on my new gasket and carb. hopefully some prorgress within the next couple days.
  9. got the intake all cleaned up as much as i could gonna run it through the juice one more time and then go at the inside with a dremel and just smooth some stuff out and open it up a little bit.. im going to wait to do this until i get my new gasket but that wont be for a couple days.
  10. little update on what i got done today. i woke up this morning and looked outside and saw the sun shining so i ran out and starting tearing down the truck right away. i got my carb off, intake manifold off, and the exhaust manifold off as well. i got the intake manifold soaking in some cleaner right now and i am going at it every hour or so with a brush and cleaning it all up nice. i'll post pics of it when its all cleaned up and lookin brandy new. kinda kicking myself cuz i wanted to take a before and after pic but i forgot the before  . anyways, i'll be fabbing up the new exhaust in the next couple days or so. waiting on the new carb set up in the mail still but will have everything assembled and waiting by the time it comes. im going to take the valve cover off in a little bit and mess around with that later as well. some pics so far. more to come.
  11. trust me it's not that i think its too big of a job or whatever. i just dont see myself wasting any time doing something that in my opinion doesnt need to be done. i got an old fuji 10 speed thats mint that i blast around on from time to time.
  12. isn't the l20's runners bigger as well also though?
  13. ya i already have 3 inch blocks and the torsion bars cranked.. you must have missed that part. and i will not be doing anything to the exterior for quite sometime and probably not the interior either. this is my daily driver so i can't do too much with it. i can go a few days without a car and ride my bicycle when need be. other than that its going to be pretty much the way you see it, hopefully just a lot lower soon.
  14. im going to be going through all the parts that i have in boxes and check out the extra transmission and body panels that i have. i will be laying everything out and taking pictures and most likely posting some stuff for sale so stay tuned for that. i know i can't post them here but maybe i'll just post pictures of what i have and go from there. heres a shot of my garage and why the 521 can't fit  #bikelife 2 CR's and 1 CRF and a 08 street glide
