  1. You also may be able to get a condensor out of a 1980 720 truck too if it has the L20b in it.
  2. All these stories sound oh to familiar. But I did make it. My first 2 510's were undrivable,so they were towed. 3rd one was bought off of ebay for 6500. Bought it in San Diego, guy said it could be driven, so I drove it home to Atlanta, GA. Only a few hiccups on the way. Definitely a small set of tools should of been the first stop before hitting the road would of saved a ton of grief. First the dang throttle cable popped off at a gas station. I needed a set of allens to fix that. Next I had shoddy wiring for headlights, they would come on when they want. I had do the jiggle if they turned off at night. only other thing was I hit a nail and got a flat in louisiana. Not to bad for a datsun. After fixing all the little issues. I ended up dailying it a whole year in Atlanta putting close to 25k on the motor, 40 miles one way. Next one I bought was a 620, guy said it would drive home. I get about 10 miles down the road and the dang thing starts smoking. Tranny died 2 miles later. It was bone dry 5 speed. Had to get it towed. I guess we've all been there. Datsun's can be reliable but just like any old car. They need maintenance probably more than 90's daily drivers.
  3. Reviving an old thread but I hope some people can point me in the right direction. About once a year I have this problem with my car. Not driving it more than 5k a year but this is what happens. If I crank the wheel to hard and all the ways to one direction. It makes a small noise and the then all of sudden the steering wheel is out and my alignment is off. This particular time I was turning left all the ways, and the right wheel is the one that is off. With the steering wheel straight the driver side wheel is fine, the passenger wheel is completely out. I have replaced the tie rods and did check to make sure everything is tight. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Support bracket. You can have it free, but pay shipping. It just needs a little wire brushing and paint.
  5. Like the title states. I know most people will just say buy them. It's not that expensive but I have been waiting for a set to pop up again and it hasn't happened. Just trying to save a little money. I can trade you my 200sx headers too plus cash too. Jeff

This sucks royal arse. Why couldn't it be some old 80's mustang instead? I sent you a text, let me know if you didn't get it.
  7. I'll try that tonight, do the steering dance, while it is still in the air. It's a 510 sir. Hence the post in the 510 forum. Not trying to be a smart ass. I appreciate any and all help.
  8. Went around town for a few things, went to a car meet 80 miles. Went out for some car parts. Come back, Steering wheel and driver side wheel are still pointing straight. Passenger wheel is pointed inwards toward the front. Have to hold steering wheel to the right to go straight. Its the first arm that comes off the steering column.
  9. Replacing both sides of tie rods and I noticed this. Is this normal gap? A buddy of mine said yes but I want to make sure. Thanks for all the comments. The car is aligned sitting down on suspension. Once I drive it for more than 200 miles the alignment starts to go away. More info: Front suspension is 240z struts, bump steer blocks, adjustable strut rings, lowering springs, camber kits
  10. Well its my father in laws old shop. I pay a guy $30 cash to align my front wheels. Not much you can do with the rears. He has always done a fair job. I will throw the jack under it tonight and see what the heck is going on. I have replaced the lower ball joints about a year and a half ago. But I have put about 20k miles on them. Plus being lowered might have caused premature wear. I will report back what I find.
  11. No matter what I do, as soon as I drive my car off the lot, my alignment starts going away. I am guessing it is in the passenger side. In order to go straight I have to turn my steering wheel 90 degrees to the left. When the steering wheel is straight, driver side wheel is pointed straight but passenger wheel has toe out. Before I had this problem. It would almost seemed every time I jacked up my car and the wheels weren't pointed ahead. When I lowered it back down, the alignment would be off. Sorry if my grammar is off, my eyes are heavy and my bed is calling me. I am running 280z struts, ground controls with eibach, and bumpsteer spacers. Jeff
