  1. mine is 026.. made in march. I would love to find out if mine was in the first 1000 or so.
  2. Don't forget penetrating oil on your sway bar brackets. An hour of soaking and prep could save you tons of time on bolt extraction... Learn from my mistake! Always be patient. And if you're just doing the idler arm bush that took me 5 minutes in Claire's 210. Really easy.
  3. going home tomorrow after a 10hr shift and coming back 3hrs later for staff training. only thing that makes it bearable, is enjoying the drive, because i love driving my Datsun.

  4. check your hubs yet? what days are you off any way? let me know when work for you and ill help you check it out. with my 521 i could physically shake the wheel with it off the ground it was so bad,but all it needed was grease. spindles were okay. i work saturday sunday and monday nights. spend tuesdays with kate. so... friday? i live close so i can come to you, instead of having you drive way out north. if you wanna take a crack at it before, try raising the front end, support it on stands. * you can borrow mine from jake if you need. once its on the stands and secure, turn the steering wheel back and forth slowly noticing and noises or odd vibrations in the wheel. next check components by simple visual inspection (i.e. bent, broken, loose stuff) and trying to wiggle parts. if something seems loose it has backed itself out and needs to be readjusted or replaced due to wear. i'd be more than willing to help with your valve adjustment too. forgot to give you those feeler gauges at the event. had them in my truck from when i recovered it from work the day before. >_< doh.
  5. thanks much, going to attempt this Wednesday, my weekend. finally drove my 620 to work this evening for the first time. 'twas well worth the work i have done so far.
  6. so... are we all just laughing at the part name? Where did you get that? cause i need one for my 620. i've needed one for months. mine slowly leaks. damn near put my redneck stepbrother into a coma saying heater cock one day. it was funny for me too, until i found out none of the parts stores in my area have it....
  7. Did you ever get your truck back from that sheist mechanic? There was an L18 and 240sx trany on CL right after jake told me about that for like 800, Both rebuilt. I also know a guy over in Venita who's retired and gave his shop to his kids but he still does transmissions and drive lines for cheap. might just take him a day or 2. if theres any way i can help get your truck back on the road let me know. ----Zach
