well its in the car already i put another quart it shut up the noise in idle quite a bit you can still hear it, only when reving but it sounds normal. im sure its just a a 280z transmission i think a 77 not entirely sure it was already in the car when i bought it. i just have this weird rattle noise i think its the timing chain i heard oil pressure can change this?
-
so then that could be why its making the noise ill put in the other quart tomorrow and see how it sounds and is there a big difference between the z 5 speed and the zx 5 speed? thanks for the quick response
-
well the transmission was also taken out cleaned and inspected everything seemed to be fine no worn out gears or anything, and it took about a quart of 95/70transmission gear oil. its a 280z 5 speed transmission not too sure about the year
-
so i have a 71 510 2 door, when the clutch peddal is pushed in the noise goes away but when out you can hear a rumble/vibration/ buzzing kind of noise like a washboard if that makes sense, i just replaced the clutch and pressure plate today, it did make this noise before just not as loud. everything seems fine. just not sure if this noise is normal
-
thank you both i really appriciate what you did there, i couldnt find where to delete my post so i can post the right codes so they were just left up there, but thanks again!

im actually thinking about fighting this ticket the cop did not take pictures of my exhaust and i believe it was just his opinion that its too loud ive past by cops before while stepping on the gas ( still going the speedlimit) and its LOUD i checked my car and its about 88 to 90 db the legal limit is 95 but if not i will just put a glasspack resonator right after like 12 inches past my header. not to worried about a losing power it is my daily driver its funny tho everyone asks if i have a v-8 in there and theyre suprised to hear and see my little l- series 4 banger
