  1. Test for voltage at the harness fuse box when cranking? Or at the orange wire?
  2. 6' 5" and when I got my car I could hang my arm out of the drivers window and touch the ground....knuckle dragger.
  3. Has anyone had any experience with a KA harness into a 510? I got a great looking "universal" style harness and the damn engine wont start up. I have no fuel pump, injectors or spark. I am starting to believe that it is my ECM because I have power at the fuses on the new harness but nothing else. There are only 2 grounds, a constant and an ignition signal....All of which have been verified as good. The car ran fine with the jalopy of a harness before. I sent them the ECM and am just curious if it could have been bumped or something in transit. I am currently waiting for a call back from them to continue troubleshooting. Any ideas? Anything I could be missing? Thanks guys. 69 510 S13 block and head S14 distributor and AT ECM No CAS Starting circuit is separate from the harness (engine will crank)
  4. Josh, I am curious at what your options are going to be for a radiator fan. I also have a KA-T in mine and and had a hell of a time getting a fan option to fit. I thought that maybe I had some odd ball engine mounts that pushed the motor foward in the bay but it seems to be placed about the same as yours. What are you planning? Mike
  5. Thanks for the explanation. I am going to start hitting the junkyards. Can't wait for more updates! Mike
  6. I love this car. Great Job. I've read through the whole thread multiple times. I am curious about the flare job though. I know you used MK1 and 2 flares but which ones? As in, did you use the flares off the fenders or all of them from quarter panels? Right on Right or Left on Right etc. I am picking up a 2002 in the coming days and am also thinking of ditching the BRE flares on my 510 too because of how well yours came out. Any info would be greatly appreciated... Mike
  7. Get the 7/8 in replacement from Troy Ermish. Brand new for $110.
  8. Looks great....the PO of my car did the same thing with the headlights. I still need to fix it.
  9. Hi Tristin! I should be getting my car back in 2 weeks. Fingers Crossed. Still some good weather to meet up with some of the local guys.
  10. I pretty much just went through the same issue with mine. Ended up getting a machined crank from NAPA for $175 with rod and main bearings. I would suggest a new oil pickup, and possibly new oil pump plus the obvious cleaning and what not. I definetly suggest rebuild, you never know what you are going to get with a used. Start fresh. I have a lower intake, MAF and stock rods with ARP's in them that I would sell to you for shipping...I also have a harness but i may need it. Let me know if you want them. I am in Washington. Nice project so far too.
  11. Ermish 7/8" BMC is a Beck Arnley 072-2694. it does not come with the push rod assembly and you can use the stock 3/4 from the 510 but will need to replace the concave washer that sandwiches the push rod ball with one off of a car that uses the same size BMC. This part is a direct replacement for the following: 72-73 240z 74 260z 75-78 280z This info is from Ermish himself along with some Google searching. Hope it helps
  12. @Uieluck I'm always interested in previous owners and condition that the car was in when owned...How did you leave it in 95 when sold?
  13. Got the tranny pulled today. Looked pretty good. Gave me a chance to really look at the underside of the car. Pretty decent. will need rear rockers soon. Floor pans have been patched with a couple more areas to do. The plan is, to prep the engine bay for paint while the motor is out, trailer to paint, trailer back to dads to drop the motor in, trailer to Tri Cities to have a buddy of mine that works at Kaizenspeed to build the intercooler, piping, catch can, exhaust, tune, and fuel cell. Engine bay is being bodyworked, possibly stitch welded, new master cylinders, CX KA radiator and then being painted POSSIBLY Excedy Purple. Car will be coming back home tomorrow and engine work will begin. Stay Tuned.
  14. Got the motor pulled on yesterday, 11/24/12. Xcessive Manifold. Going to get the matching Intake Manifold.
  15. Hey guys, figured I would start a build thread now that I have officially started on the car. My name is Mike and I've been on Ratsun for about 3 months or so starting to source parts for the rebuild. Saw this car on CL about 7 months ago and really flaked out on actually buying it from a guy. He was going out of town for a bit and I told him to get ahold of me when he got back, but he never did. Saw the car again about 3 months ago and had to jump on it. Bought this car from Trevor (flaredfourdoor) and it sat in my garage, while I started sourcing parts. The car was pretty much done aftermarket wise but supposedly has a spun rod bearing. Just moved it to my parents place in Poulsbo to start rebuilding the car. Day we got it home. I didn't load a pic of the front but the valance and dobi lip were hacked to install an intercooler under the bumper and on the exterior of the body panels. I hated it so I sourced a used valance and am about to buy a dobi style lip. Which will be easily removable because the front crossmember is 2 inches from the pavement. Will probably have to raise it to go over speed bumps at work. Trailered it to dads. Heated garage is pretty nice, not to mention room to move around
