is it possible to machine out the spot for the speedo and then tap the bolt that holds it? will the gears for the speedo cable mesh with the internals?

hey mike do you know if any other datsuns have the same axle bearing as a 72 wagon? i had a hell of a time running down some just to mock up a disc brake conversion, but now i found out my 70 goon has a bad axle bearing :( sooo yeah any info from the master would be much appreciated :thumbup: also didnt mean to change thread topic!

ill double check tomorrow but i think i used some 720 leaf spring bushings in mine

i have 2 goons and i want 1 to be a racecar (ready for comments on that one ha) and one to be a simple daily, but i think it would be cool to have the same engine in both but one of them low key reliable and the other maybe pushin some good race power? 200hp? 300hp? if i want that am i better off EFI and turbo? ah crap im rambling!! BUT FOR THE DAILY i should do the l16 rebuild? i just am concerned about mix matchin enigne parts like swapin the head off of a KA motor to the Naps for more compression?( thats off the top of my head and is probs wrong haha) but you get what i mean. sorry about the answer lag!! So my Napz engine is gone and i really like the idea of putting in an L24 or something along the lines of inline 6, NA, and definitely carbed haha BUT ive also got a pretty good starting base on a L16 that just needs a new timing chain tensioner and new piston rings (she smokes like a diesel if you push it...sad face ha) and new seals and gaskets. Im just unsure about the measurements of the new shifter location with the L24? and can i simply cut my tranny hump at my fire wall and bring it back will that impede too much on my foot space and pedal room? Or do i rebuild my L16 and spend a little cash on some upgrades to make maybe 150hp? i dont know and im really stumped and been like this for about a month :/ any help or guidance would be very awesome!! so i would also have to "assume", which i hate doing, that bigger brakes need a bigger brake booster? or vacuum assisted? i found the issue of it, it was very well written and it even had pictures!! ha, but still nothin about a bigger booster :/

so is there no tried and true disc brake swap for the wagons stock rear end? or is it better to upgrade the whole rear end with disc already on it?? sorry for interrupting the knowledge war haha

Ok i finaly get the to ask the biggest question ive had for the longest time!! Where can i get 2 sets of bay window gaskets? ive tried looking around and heard about "some dude" in good ole Australia, but it turned out kinda shady and just didnt feel right, but after that i didnt really get any more info. also i have a '70 and a '72 wagon but there is no difference between them right? like no wierd stuff haha So can yu guys help me out or at least guide me in the right direction??? thanks guys excited to hear what yu got! even the funny rudeness :D

well when the L16 was in, it had a full rubber gasket that sat down on top of the webber downdraft for a better "cold air only" set up haha but it now has a KA24DE so i think a new carbon hood is on the list
