  1. i have an 82 210 2 door sedan with an sr motor in it. very easy installation, did not need to cut the firewall, only the re positioning of the hole in the tunnel for the shifter. stock is about 160hp. and they are all over the internet from $900 - $1600 for the turbo ones. i used a 200sx cross-member and it fitted in perfectly. i believe the 510 and the 210 were built off of the same chassis and the dimensions are very similiar. if you go with the SR20VE then that is closer to 200hp stock, but you may have to cut your firewall. the distributor and solenoids for the variable valve timing are at the back of the motor. my build thread here in jamaica: http://www.wheelsjamaica.com/wheels_forum/index.php?topic=185964.0 Not anywhere near finished but you will see what i have done so far. the stock sr motor is so much fun to drive which is why i have not finished the car yet. I wish you all the luck in your build and i hope you make the right decision on the motor. All the best!!
  2. sr20, will fit right in. it goes right to the fire wall. take a look http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/img2012060900142.jpg/ thats in an 82 210 2dr sedan you'll need an aftermarket radiator, and electric fans. i also heard, that if you use the sr20 engine with an sr20 bell housing and the k24 gearbox, the shifter comes through right by the original datsun hole. haven't seen it but it's worthwhile measuring up.
  3. as you speak of engines, a lot of people have to cut the tunnel when swapping in the sr engine, but i just found out last night, that if you swap in a sr20 with a ka24 gearbox, only changing the ka bell housing to the sr bell housing, it shortens the gearbox and slots it back in the original slot, and provides some better gear ratios.
  4. it fits perfectly. i put my build on a different website, wheelsjamaica.com if you want to see it. go to that site, hit the nissan/infinity section and on that page my thread is there titled datsun 210 project sr20. pics and some details, its not finished but the engine is in
  5. 79-83 200sx crossmember. found it at oem-surplus.com for $50
  6. i have an 82 210 that i am working on also. i am swapping in an SR20 into it. found a 200sx cross member that bolts right up, and the SR slots in perfectly also. for the rear i transplanted a ae86 solid backend and just transferred the mounts and spring chairs, and its pretty good. just need to find a coilover system that will fit the datsun.
  7. All you need is some pool acid and run it through the radiator and watch the rust poor out. after that put the hose up to it and let it run right through. should do the job perfectly.
