  1. (IMG)DatsunPair by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Big Green with the Race truck!!
  2. (IMG)20130924_173306[1] by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Big Green Doing a little work around the yard! on the East coast, Datsuns are hard to find!!!
  3. The motor is an Oldsmobile or Buick notice the distributor in the front which allows you to put the motor as close to firewall as possible. Olds and buicks take a different transmission, slightly diff bolt patterns as the chevys. This person did modify the trans tunnel a little bit which then moved the heater box to passenger side. Think careful and overly Plan and Take a bunch of measurements!!! Chevy V6 would have distributor in the back just like the V8's...I like the sound of Blazer frame but you never know about surprises!!! gas tank, Cab clearances, bed mounts etc.....Keep us posted and wish you luck!!! Let me know if i can help in any way...
  4. I dont have a side view yet but will get one soon...V6 has SOOO much more room for everything!!!... (IMG) 2010-09-14 15.11.34 by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG)
  5. I dont have torsion bars on any of my trucks, they have all been converted to coil overs...I know a v8 fits from stock firewall to the rad. core support...No room for radiator unless you move something major!!! Firewall = No leg room...Core support = cutting the first thing you see when popping the hood... I recommend Nissan motor, V6 swap is second choice, Maybe ford V8 since distributor is in front... 6. I have 3 datsuns all with Chevy powered...headers are pain...Manifolds is Great idea...block hugger headers kind of work but shorttubes suck....Think about Cooling, Steering shaft!!!, master cyclinder, distributor clearance...etc....You will need to make everything!!! If your not ready for a LOT of work i like modify a J series and Drive the crap out of it!!!
  7. I have to admit when i first saw your project i thought it was terrible, but i have to eat my thoughts and I Love your project!!! Great job and good work, keep it up!!!
  8. Yep, its not my daily driver so yea mini truck feeling...LOL I dont remember the spring weights but truck weight was 2820lbs with me in it. so speed shop ordered accordingly???
  9. Bump!!! I have been wondering this myself for Years....i can bend metal into any-shape you want!!! but Carpet and wood woop my butt...Is there anything close to the 521 that will help us wetards???? http://stockinteriors.com/Model.asp?MakeId=38&Desc=Datsun_Carpet great site but no Old Trucks... JCWhitney fitment??????
  10. Madmax

    need fuel tank!!!

Day Late and Dollar short but If that dont fit, i gots one i am not using. i make an aluminum one for all mine. Expensive route!!! I am in Northern VA. if you head up this way for anything...I like your ingenuity thought!!! Ratsun Style
  11. One of you boys asked length of my coilovers? took a pic and realized they are Adjusted all the way down!!! OOpppsss (IMG) Datsuncoiloverr by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Tried something different, heres my current aircleaner lid. Flat Black... (IMG) Datsunaircleanerr by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Heres a clear one. All my friends love the clear one!!! (IMG) Datsunaircleaner by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG)
  12. I do have fenders and almost everything to change back to round headlights. I plan to use the square headlight front clip for race track, that way if i smack the wall i am not too upset! I plan to use the round headlights front clip for street use and 90percent of the time...I would try to sell but theirs not as many datsun lovers here on east coast as there are on the west coast. I feel lonely sometimes. LOL
  13. I want to keep the same style 5006 but wanted an unbreakable plastic style instead of glass. Our parts stores sell chrome stickers and speak spanish, they dont know anything about an automobile unless the computer says it will fit??
  14. Unfortunately with a V8 swap theirs no room for your Legs. I love my truck but am crunched up like a pretzel! A chevy V8 with minor firewall mods fits from firewall to core support leaving no room for radiators. Made some progress this week, got headlight brackets sandblasted and powdercoated. Used the Rivnuts and working great!!! (IMG) Datsunheadliterings by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) When disassembling these, pay very close attention to the numbers on the buckets! And which side they are on! Drivers or Passengers? Polished Staniless with Steel wool, bought M3 screws from Mcmaster carr...Anybody know where to get Aftermarket Healights from?????
  15. THANK YOU GUYS!!! Only ran 1/8mile and 5.82 on spray. Should be in the 9's on good day?? Wanting to put the original style front end on since i bought the truck 15yrs ago!!! (IMG) Datsunfrontclippppp by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Everybody loves to cut on these front ends. (IMG) Datsunfrontclip by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) (IMG) Datsunfrontcli by Datsunlover1971, on Flickr(/IMG) Got her all cleaned up and powdercoated to seal it up.
