  1. Unfortunately that header was for the sr20de, it was also speccd for a road motor. Now that ive changed motor and it will be a built motor i have to make a new header. It will probably be a little more conventional looking too haha
  2. Wow, havent updated this forum in quite a long time! So things got a bit out of hand since my last post. Ended up a full blown race car. Sold the SR20de and put in an SR20VE with ITBS 4 Linked the rear end and built a full cage. Hopefully not long now and it will get a flick of paint. Just exhaust, flares and a little seam welding/general tidy up underneath and the assembly plumbing and wiring can begin hers how it looks today
  3. yeah thats the plan, I was kind of hoping someone might have a parts car they are willing to seperate the quarter windows from and That I could sort them out as opposed to getting them through ebay.
  4. Hi Guys I'm after a really big favour I'm from New Zealand (little country next door to australia for those who didn't know) and my friend has a left hand drive b110 1200 sedan here that she has restored. Which is very rare here (one of a couple at most in the country) All our RHD domestic models were sold as 4 doors so there is very little 2 doors sedans here in LHD or RHD. Well after a lovers tiff her douche bag BF decided he'd get his own back by smashing out her two rear quarter windows!!!!???! Anyway I wanted to surprise her by getting some more. So i'm after a pair of rear quarter windows. The cheaper the better, as I imagine shipping would be somewhat pricy to New Zealand. If any one is wiiling to help out by supplying/locating and shipping them to me please PM me, I can pay via Paypal. Thanks heaps Nick
  5. Just go to your local automotive paint supply store and ask for a good quality seam sealer. You apply in with a caulking gun and can smooth the beads out with meths/thinners and your fingers, most take 24-48 hours to set properly. Then you can spray some etch primer on followed by your underseal. Well thats how I'd do it. Some of the painter guys might have some better advice
  6. it looks like its been moved that far back to get as much clearance between the drag link and the sump (where he's cutting the sump see pic above) maybe he's got his motor mounted lower than other swaps
  7. A gasket won't do anything as the vibtration just goes through the bolt. i'd either leave as is and put up with lots of vibration and possible cracking or if your wanting a real stiff mount check out the way i've done my mounts http://community.ratsun.net/topic/25417-nicks-4-door-b110-sedan/ I used nolathane datsun b110 leaf spring front eye bushes and they fit perfectly in i *think* 1.5"NB tube. i can't remember exactly what size it is. But I didn't have to machine the tubes, It was just some stock tube I had lying round. With those mounts the motor does not move at all! There will still be vibration but nothing like a solid mounted motor and if it is too bad I can change to rubber bushes. Anyway just a suggestion.
  8. Just put a pcv inline is the only other thing i'd say cause if your unlucky enough to get a back fire out the exhaust you could blow your valve cover off :D
  9. Yup AAAAAAALLL the way over here in........... New Zealand :D haha Like the truck sparkle very tidy
  10. yup for some reason 2 door wagons seem to be a little more common than 4 wagons here. Not sure which was offered locally but sedan's were all sold new as four doors. All RHD 2 door sedans are imports NZ is pretty lucky as far as Datsun go, they were quite a common little car back in the day, but rust and or abuse has destroyed alot of them. The old(er) guys at work tell stories of when they were teenagers they used to get the buy sell swap and buy a $100 datsun (because they were worth nothing back then, they were just "Jap Crap") and go paddock race them and crash them and jump them etc until they would go anymore! They all used to love the datsuns because the motors lasted the longest! I think outside japan, Aussie definitely got the best selection of datsun models though, they were locally assembled (as they were in NZ too) for years. Oh how'd i'd love a Datsun 1000 (B10)
  11. Yeah as Abe said just a s14 silvia sr20de.......... But I do have a sr20ve which I'll convert to rwd and run on ITB's with some big cams and 12.5:1 CR. mmmmm :D Have all the bits required for the build except the ITB's. Thats phase 2 though! I also want to build a flow bench before the motor too so I can port the head (and hopefully generate a little cash doing others too) Too many things to do and not enough time!!
  12. Not alot unfortunately. The poor thing got worked on for the first time in two months! Have started the roll cage, i've done the main hoop and front legs and rear stays. Then found out that they changed the regs last month and I now need a bigger diameter main hoop! so will sort that out in the new year. Once thats done its really only brakes and a wire away from running. That'll be a big day!! Hopefully I can get it running by Feb/March. Then I have to mount all the little crap like gauges and paint it but might try sneak it out for a track day or sneaky event in primer and multi coloured panels before I strip it down for paint over winter.
  13. very cool. I have a 1200 sedan too (in NZ) mine is getting an sr20de though. Please revert back to round headlights though they look so much better than the late truck setup! :D Quick question though, why is it still got leaves and 4 link, is that just a temporary measure until you can sort out coilovers for the rear? Personally if keeping leaves i'd be losing the the top links and using just the bottom ones for anti tramp. As I imagine with the 4 link and leaves there is a high chance you'll be getting suspension bind if pushed hard enough (which equals snap oversteer). Having said that if its just got rubber bushes in the links they have a sh1t tonnes of compliance so you might be alright. Anyway Awesome car :)
  14. yeah 1200 wagon's are pretty rare here too. Its a shame it wasn't in better condition. My friend has one with a ca18det in it. Which should be running soon! A guy brought it to put the running gear into a morris minor (not sure if you got them there, poxy litttle british car) as its quite a common conversion. Brought a minor and the wagon, put them in the paddock and then forgot about them for 10 years! All the frosts and wet weather over the years took its toll and it was wel beyond restoration. But its parts live on in several local 1200's!
