  1. Ok took apart the light switch and cleaned the contacts inside, super easy and quick and hot dog it's working as good as new! Yesterday my 5 month old daughter sat in her bouncy chair in the garage while dad cursed and worked on the Datsun. I've had this truck since '94, something tell me I'll still have it when I'm 94 or maybe she'll want it. Doubtful, but hopeful. Thanks for all the help so far guys, also yesterday came across the fusible link missing, replaced that too.
  2. No go on the penny, quarter or buttocks shaped diamond. Did use my NRA medallion and that worked! When I wiggle the light switch my running lights cut off and on, so I'm pretty sure I need to check the solder on the back of that switch. Still need to remove and clean the blink switch, still no blinkers or hazards. Funny thing is blinkers were working two days ago and now nothing. Hmmm ok thanks guys.
  3. 76' 620 Ok, I've been chasing this thing a few days now. Follow me here..... -Brake lights stay on with truck off and no running lights though..... -Turn on headlights and brake lights dim to what appears normal running lights brightness.... -Initiate turn signal left or right ( don't matter ) and turn signal light turns off no blinky.... -Hazards don't work either no matter what..... -Truck runs great, steers great, brakes great, won't power brake and worried it might catch fire!!!
  4. Thanks L motor God, datzenmike sent me a great link. Great info from you too. Oh and by the way, 90% of the time I have no idea wtf I’m doing. That's why my life stays so interesting…..Trying to figure out this electronic ignition has looked nothing short of a monkey with a football. My expertise has fallen in other areas….Ratsun is saving my life, thanks guys…..
  5. This pic shows my new aftermarket non matchbox electric Cardone distributor. The two wires coming off are red (pos) and green (neg), I spliced the purple wire into the green due to length and being able to reach the coil. The wire wrapped around the coil center wire that is not plugged into anything used to plug into the outside of my stock distrib. Where does that go now with this new distrib? Not sure if I have this wired correct. Right now I'm not getting any spark out of my coil. I've checked my coil and it's good. The purple wire going to my coil is the green wire from my new distrib, the red going to my coil is from the new distrib too and the short purple jumper wire was originally a white jumper from my resistor to the coil. I only have purple wire wire, sorry guys. If anyone has good pictures of their wired coil and distributor that would be great! I have no spark from my coil center wire when I test it when cranking the engine over. Thanks guys. If you need more pics or info to help me trouble shoot this let me know. GO HAWKS........
  6. That's funny!! My wife laughed when I read this to her. She knows better than that, I'll take her shoes away!
  7. Well, you know how things go.....Started this project and next thing i know I have everything else pulled apart now!! Hoping I get the carb back in next week. First child on the way so between crawling around the truck and setting up for her arrival I've been taxed! Good news is, im going to have a new grease monkey soon!!
  8. Thanks Mike, I appriciate it. Let you know how it goes.
  9. So my next question...My EGR valve is gone, so where do I send the second nipple/hose that use to go there, do I just cap it? AND Can you guys look at this next pic and tell me if this U-turn this hose is doing legit? The bottom line goes directly to the thermal vac valve (thanks to you guys I know this now) the other one goes to distrib and canister.
  10. There's antifreeze behind it, one of the broken nipples went to the EGR valve, one goes to which eventually ends up in the carbon canister
  11. No problem, I appriciate it though, good luck with skool....
  12. I orderd the '79 200sx coil today and i want to confirm before installing....I do not need the ballast resistor with the Cardone 31-620? I have recieved mixed views on this topic. Also has anyone here removed and replaced their stock single point with one of these? Is it as easy as I'd hope?
  13. laotsu, you have a few El Dizzies? Looking for a solid fit for my '76 l20b.
