  1. Hi all! I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks, and finally was able to sign up. I recently purchased a 79 210 sedan for $300. It needs a ton of help. When I was in high school, I my first car was a Ford Escort hatchback. But my second was a Datsun 280zx. Man I loved that car, and even as a teenager, there was nothing i could do to hurt that thing. My Grandmother had a 78 B210 coupe. She drove that thing to 500,000 miles, then sold it to my cousin, and he drove it until the body caved in. Fond memories of these cars. My wife and I both work 40 miles from home, and were looking for a beater that got good mileage, and I found this. I have a lot of plans to make her nice again. I may need a lot of advise. Here is how it looked when I picked her up. Exhaust is torn off, Both back wheels were bent, and all the tires were split and would not hold air longer than about 2 minutes. It has a lot of rust on the rockers, and the interior is shot. I had to cram a tire between the back seat and the drivers seat, so that i could at least drive it off the trailer and into the shop. all the seat brackets are broke where the back meets the bottom. I started reading this site, to find what wheels and tires fit, so I could at least move the thing off my dads property (he trailered it home with me) and back to my house 10 miles away. He is how it looks now. New set of MB passion 5's 14x5.5 +35mm with a set of hankook 185/70r14 tires. I changed the oil, and she fired right up. 3 year old gas and all! Runs and drives like a champ. Sitting at home in the shop now. Going to strip out the interior, sand her down, patch the rust and give her a spray. I have tons of ideas on paint, and will post my designs soon, so maybe you all can help me decide what design to use. Narrowed the paint to black and Kawisaki green. Thanks all for the great site. It has helped a ton so far.
