  1. I finally found the front bumper overrides. And when I received the rear bumper overrides I ordered, they were actually another pair of front overrides...doh! So now I´m searching for the REAR bumper overrides, parts numbers are 85020-H1900 and 85021-H1900.
  2. Wanted: Datsun 240Z (S30) standard horn pad with “Datsun” badge in the middle. Preferably new, but used is OK too if in good condition. I know these are still available as new from Nissan, but they are little pricey so I´m hoping to find one for “good price”. I´m in Finland but willing to pay shipping according to realized costs. PM me if you have one you could sell.
  3. The most probably 1973, could be 1974 too. Last summer I saw two rallycross E10 sedans which were converted to RWD with Volvo engine.
  4. Parts numbers are the most probably the following: 62674-H1900 OVERRIDER-FRONT BUMPER,RH 62675-H1900 OVERRIDER FRONT BUMPER LH
  5. My restoration project needs new FRONT bumper overrides. I´m in Finland but willing to pay shipping. I couldn´t find the parts numbers from the parts catalog. Only rear bumper overrides were there. Strange. Anyways, this brochure scan shows what I´m looking for Used ones are OK too, if they are in "like new" condition.
  6. Thanks to LenRobertson and Burabuda, I have found everything else but one wind guide. Bumper end cap I have is not the best one either. So if you come across F10 hatchback parts, let me know. And thanks again for LenRobertson and Burabuda for their priceless help in search of F10 parts.
  7. Did you use the old 4-speed control linkage when you installed the 5-speed? It could be the reason. But I´m not sure why it messed the pattern that way…I mean left and right also changed place. It should be like this R-2-4 1-3-5 The normal “dogleg” pattern. If you put a 5-speed from N10 or F10 into an E10 and use E10 4-speed linkage, it will turn the pattern upside down. Like this: 1-3-5 R-2-4 But it doesn´t change left to right and vice versa. Check the gear linkage first. It is most probably the reason for strange pattern. You need to use 5-speed linkage with 5-speed gearbox.
  8. Yep, J stands for solid rear axle. And K is for coupe as usually. H is not necessarily associated with L18. Very often it stands for “the second biggest engine”, but not always. I haven´t figured out the logic behind this yet. For example HLB310-> H=A14, L=LHD and B310 is body style. Again PLB310->P=A15 (the biggest engine available) and the rest is the same. On the other hand, H is missing from the F10 series code. LF10->[blank]=A12, L=LHD and F10 is body style. Usually no engine code means the smallest engine, but this case the A10 powered version is BLF10. And like many other models (but not all of them), P stands for the biggest engine->A14 powered version is PLF10 (and coupe naturally is KPLF10). Then there´s also bunch of letters after the model code. They define marketing area (Europe, USA etc.) and is Deluxe, SSS or what. But those letters are not visible in the code stamped on the car. I would say there is a certain logic behind Nissan model codes, but at the same time it is highly illogical. I´m currently studying them. I´m writing an article about the codes together with couple of fellow Datsun enthusiasts. It will be published in the Nissan Club of Finland club magazine. Our research is still in very early state and I don´t know when the study is ready to bee published. edit: zerow was faster than me...it is even more confusing if P is for L18 in US...I think those letters go after JDM models and since US models had "over sized engines" the logic iss gone?
  9. J stands for rigid rear axle. My 4dr, for example, is JPL710 -> J=rigid rear axle, P=L16 engine, L=left hand drive and 710=body style. If H stands for L18, are the L20B powered models marked with G ?
  10. I found the heatshield. Still need the exhaust manifold + piece of tailpipe.
  11. I say keep it as it is. World is already full of modified Datsuns, but those in nice original condition are getting very rare. If you have to modify it for some reason, keep it strickly period style.
  12. Many of you probably know that Brad Pitt drove a Datsun before he came famous. But what model it was?
  13. "Datsun 100A" (Cherry E10) http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/flzuzeWUIdKGNhaSSseUhA?authkey=Gv1sRgCL6x-vKo97X-Xg&feat=directlink
