What happened to Ko?

29 March 2018 - 10:00 PM

Ok, so I know Matt (HRH) probably got bummed out by the Murican election result and the trash talking of Sillary (dude never struck me as a snowflake and I still think he,s a good guy).

Kinda wondering about Ko; bestowed honorary Aussie status on the dude and he fades off into the ether like Smoke.

Recall a couple of posts hinting he might have been deported?

Anyone got a steer on this; I’ve been pondering for a while.

Crypto currencies

22 January 2018 - 09:25 PM

In an effort to expand my play money account and invest more money (and time) in my projects Im looking at crypto currency investments i.e. Bitcoin, Etheryum, Dash, LTC etc.

There will be innumerable naysayers about this,; what I am hoping for is a genuine interest and discussion from like minded peeps.

And yeh , sure, Im going to be told to fuck off to an investment website or like forum.

For those of you contemplating suggesting that I give you Cuz, Insmncs, Post Ass, Post Tits $1.99 etc etc etc.

For those interested, some links frm a great mate of mine who despite noy owning a single Datsun is a very!!!! clever man.

For those not, well..............., F$#k off :)

One key thing ive already learned from my very limited research is this is a marathon, not a sprint!

RW's BSA D1 Bantam(s)

06 January 2018 - 02:53 PM

As if I dont have enough to keep me interested.

Saw one of these years ago and basically fell in love with the shape and style of the bike.

Both bikes are Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) D1 Bantams.

First one I bought is a 1951 model.  I probably (definitely) spent too much on it, however it was an impulse buy.  Not fully complete but certainly has enough bits to get a good restoration started.

About a month ago a mate of mine rang me and said he knew of a "restored" D1 for sale at not much more than I paid for the first bike.

This one (1952 model) is in MUCH better condition and runs well.  The paintjob is not the "mist green" (see gas tank for reference) that I prefer and the paint job the PO did is not up to my standards.  Still, apart from the speedo cable missing its period correct (paint colour not withstanding) and runs.

Plan is to get it registerd and slowly start work on the repainting and a little tidy up here and there.  Have repainted the number plate holder the black it should be and the next job is to refit it and to reinstall the rear shock absorbers the right way round (PO put them in upside down).

125cc of thumping British fury which should be just fast enough for me :)

Cuz its Christmas eve

23 December 2017 - 11:23 PM

1/4 past six in the evening.

Wifes sister and her family have just turned up for dinner so I guess I gotta behave for the next couple of hours :)

Aussie christmasses are kinda a funny thing.

Im sitting on my favorite chair knocking back (yet another) icy cold beer and revelling in how good life is; and reflecting on my good fortune (every day above ground is a good day).

Best wishes to everyone!

And......... My favorite christmas song from an Aussie music genius!

Bathurst 1000

07 October 2017 - 01:43 PM

Unless you live under a rock in Australia you would be well aware that today is the ultimate V8 Supercar round at Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

It is without a doubt one of the most exciting motor races in the world!

Ford, Holden, Nissan and Volvo V8s go head to head in a 161 lap race.

With rain forecast to fall at the start of the race there will inevitably be carnage.

A link below to getting an online feed (for a fee).

Today is a religious holiday for RW. Its 0841 now and the race starts at 1110.

First beer will be cracked at 1109.
