  1. Hi everyone, i own a 521 1.3L truck that has a rusty-broken-ready to be replaced exhaust pipe... I found that the silencer(muffler) has also been damaged by rust...And i was wondering... I have in my garage a stock rear silencer from a 1.4L catalytic 2008 car....Not a truck,and over 10mm bigger pipe diameter....Could i get it on?Would there be any engine problems ar it will do its job without problems???

My datto surely stays a long time still and only moves once or twice a week....Just to avoid tyre damage...There might be a day or two that will work all day with ot on the field,but its not that often... I suppose from what i read,that the milky residue could be natural... I;m pretty sure that theres no cross contamination,and there seems to be no problem with the emissions...no white smoke....Here in Greece were supposed to get the car checked once a year for emissions,and it has never benn cut from the gas analyzer... The radiator cap is really tight,maybe due to rust...the truth is ats a bit rusty,and i can see rust in the radiator(but i suppose its a bit natural too...) avery time i completely change the coolant...(twice a year) I can't understand though how i could check the breather system...
  3. Well i'd say that my grandpa did a good job all those years on the motor...It runs well,because of him and it just needed fresh oil till now... I haven't been able to run the car for a long distance yet,i checked the radiator cap and i'm not sure whether it needs replacement or not...It seems ok.. Of course i use coolant in the radiator but some times i just add water(not much,less than a litre...)....

    J13 and LPG

    Hi again! I was wondering whether it is possible to install an LPG kit to my J13 521........With the prices of unleaded fuel rising day by day,and reaching over 1,80euros per Litre its a bit difficult to anjoy my datto..... I installed LPG on my primary car and i was literally saved!Its 50% economy..... So,has anyone did it before?Is it possible without an ECU?Will itbecome a Bi-fuel car ar it shall use LPG only??? Furthermore,just to avoid opening a new thread... Here in greece,leaded fuel is going to be extinct...They'll stop it,and in the few places i can still find it it costs almost 2euros per litre...... Do you use unleaded fuel an you stock engines?Di you put any additives to ensure the smooth operation?
  8. So,my truck runs well(it has losen power a bit but after so many KMs,its natural ai suppose...) and the oil is crystal clear!The only piont that i see this milky thing is the cap.... The thermostat seems to work well...it takes ots time to warm up,and i do feel the heat after a long ride,so i suppose there is no beg deal with the thermostat... When it comes to the water issue.....I do need to add some water,not much,but i add water in the radiator.... And i'm pretty sure,that theres no leak................................................... when i was thinking of an engine swap,i thought of an J15,but otas really hard to find one here so i'll probably stay with this one.... Today i found out that this particular motor has driven OVER 900.000kms in those 42 years of age.....
  9. The oils were changed,but the same problem occurred again....While the oil is not burned at all,the same milky cream sits on the cap.... Seems that a new gasket is needed....Tomorrow i'll check the valve you are describing....
  10. Τhank you all for the answers!!! So the problem seems to be water in the engine....The engine is a j13.... If the problem is on the gasket,the it looks like llots of $$$$(€€€€€ euros to be exact hehehehe)...I was hoping of smthing not that important... Maybe an engine swap could do the trick easier???? I'm really willing to keep my truck on the road........I can find datsun engines but NOT the 520 or 521.....i'll look for 410-411 but i'm not that fortunate.... Where is the PCV valve my friend?I really hope i'll find this one blocked....

Hi there!I'm new here! :thumbup: I live in Greece and i own one of the first 520's that arrived in Greece back in 1969....My grandfather bought it and runs it 'till today!The engine has run over 600.000km and still works well for its age and the work it has produced! Lately though,as i was changing the engine oil(every 5K km since day one) i noticed on the engine cap a milky....thing.....Like cream..... Are you familliar with something like that??? My problem here,is that i cannot find parts for the restoration of the car,so a couple of years ago many things that were worn off were changed with custom ones....But i really want to get OEM parts for it.... The motor has been refurbished once,almost 7 years ago... HEre are some pics of my hardworker...
