  1. pics will never show the extent of rust and the only way is to climb under and around the car and even a small blemish can lead to feet of rocker repair. if you can get both cars. a parts car always complements a project and save's you from buying bits off epay
  2. that was my intention when i started on 6inches of rust. i was not happy with my first datsun project and wanted to do it over but didint have the skills or confidence to start cutting. my fist 510 had minimal rust (rocker ends and a bit low down on the 1/4's) and all my welds were lap with bird shit. eight years and many projects later my rocker and 1/4 panel repair's are hard to see. only a small swipe of feather light and tremclad was used now if i can keep my self from buying new datsuns and military trucks I will get back to the 68
  3. bumpers look good, dash looks nice, glass is good, very complete looking car. should be good for parts if the body can not be saved. when i wanted to hone my welding and fab skills. I picked up the most rotted unmolested stock 510 I could find. sure it took me 4 years a goon and 200lb of wire to complete and ya it was a lot of work but the first time i took it down a gravel road made it all worth it
  4. cl add lasted almost a week before getting flaged and removed.
  5. ya I guess 316 miles is far to travel for a 4spd but hay you could win a trophy for farthest distance traveled.
  6. yes were we live in igloos wear plaid shirts and our main source of transportation is dogsled. come get a 4spd partake in autoX and enjoy a car show http://community.ratsun.net/topic/53070-all-japanese-classic-car-show-april-28th-2013-vancouver-bc/
  7. looking to make some room in my parts trailer. if you can make it to the Vancouver of the north I have a pile of unknown condition 4spd you are welcome to one or two and for the trouble i will throw in a L16 block
  8. I'd do it. I like that shat so much I would be willing to trade one of my 510s for the right 200sx
  9. well if you can get here on the clock you might as well hook up a trailer and bring your dime out to the All Japanese Classic Car Show on April 28th you can pick up some stock takeoff parts and come home with awards and gold. but i bet the tranny mike has is better than the pile I have.
  10. ah shat mike your closer to him than I. was hoping to make some room in the parts trailer.
  11. j EDIT jason has no 4spds i live down the road from him and have 5 or 6 you can have one for free and for the trouble i will throw in a l16 block
  12. this just popped up on Vancouver cl http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/3733638998.html its not as good as poo but it smells the same

    just given a 521

it did till my buddy's ex woman chased him out of the driveway with a 9 iron. thanks man it will be the fourth dime I have saved from rotting away in jasons yard no pics of the car yet when its delivered i will post some pics. now if I was told that the body would easily snap on to... say a pathfinder or hardbody chassis i would have kept it. guess ill have to keep rolling in the war wagon

    just given a 521

I hope by saving it from the crusher the Gods will be appeased and I will be blessed with many 68 goodies from my new dime :D
  15. correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the field wire need to be connected to a 10ohm resister such as the charge light or the diodes will fry causing drain back?
