just bought a 98 cummins and a month later the tcase went out. under i mis-diag we replaced the tcase and rebuilt the trans. a week after it was running again the radiator started leaking bad so i replaced it and flushed the cooling system like we always do and that caused the heater core to leak. while i was flushing the system i rinsed off the engine bay and on the passenger side there is a trans cooler tank. i didn't notice the huge solder spot and when i hit it with water the solder popped off and leaked trans fluid. replaced the trans cooler then started tackling the heater core. got the dash out and core replaced then while putting the dash back in between me and my buddy helping me we dropped the complete dash and broke it in half. ziptied it back together and re assembled it. i forgot to hook back up one wire so hooked it back up and the dome light still didn't work. pulled the lens off and somehow shorted one wire out to ground and must of blew a fusible link behind the dash and nothing worked on the dash again. i have now had the truck close to two months. have over 13k into it and grenade the rear diff going to fill up the tank for the 2nd time. finally sell the truck for 6k.

i will have a set i will sell for the same. just give me a little time to get the adjustable ones on and the stocks out

i just put a regulator in my 510 with the weber 32/36 carb. the regulator i got from checker for $25. and its adjustable from 0-5psi. no return for me yet but it should work even better if you run it on the return side

so it looks like the datsun is staying with me for awhile :rofl: but she is having issues all a sudden. on my way home from dinner last night i was almost home and it stuttered a little bit but i was almost home so didn't worry about it and kind of forgot about it till this morning. i had gone about a mile and was just starting up a slight hill and it sputtered and died while i was cruising at 1/2 throttle 40-50mph (tach quit a while ago but maybe 3k). i was able to crank it again and while feathering the throttle it kinda kept going and got it parked safe. under full throttle it gets worse. since my fuel gauge is kinda flakey i guessed it was out of gas so after work (it sat all day) i got a gas can and put a few gallons of conoco 91 in it and she fired right up and drove the 2 miles to home but died again 1 block from home. since i don't have many tools at home i let it sit for awhile and tried to get it back to the shop. and she did the same thing again. i tried it with the choke all the way closed/open, air cleaner off nothing helped. i never call carb parts the right name but one the lower butterfly on the drivers side of the carb was completely dry while running while the other was slightly wet. i couldn't see in to good but i couldn't see any puddling or big leaks. the carb defiantly dosent look freshly rebuilt but i'm guessing from the rest of the work on this car that it was pretty solid or rebuilt when installed by bob. i haven't checked timing, or carb adjustments but it for sure seems like a fuel issue to me. almost like vapor lock but it has a electric fuel pump that i can hear running so i doubt thats it. hopefully tomorrow after work i can stay and mess with it and at least get the numbers off it and get a rebuild kit coming.

shes cool but dosent have the heart for cars like me. she sees the rat as a car that needs a lot of work and even then isnt a practical year around car around here which is right to a point. so either i sell it and we get one car for awhile or i keep it then come august its gotta be stored for about a year. life sucks at times but its just a car... a bad ass car but still just a car.

ya its on craigslist after fighting with my girl to much about it. its on there for a price where if i get that for it i wont feel as bad getting rid of it but most likely i wont sell it. and no i wont trade for a grand cherokee. only cherokees
