  1. Not sure what the s10 had, but i do believe that it didnt go through first gear in 1.2 seconds. If i could find a 720 in a yard around here, it wouldn't be that bad of task. But finding a donor truck is the problem.
  2. So I have read through this post, and tried to do a little bit of research in other places, but I still have a question. The only way to lower the gear ratio in my 1971 521 truck is to get a whole center section out of another truck? No one sells a gear set that I can buy either online or a parts store? I put a chevy 4.3L v6 and 5speed in my truck out of an 1991 s10. I'd like to get a lower gear ratio, something closer to what the stock s10 had. I pretty much have no 1st gear at the moment, revs out super quick. I really dont have time to go junk yard shopping around here. Finding any kind of Nissan truck, much less a datsun truck in a yard is near impossible. I'm just wondering if that will be my only option (other than spending bookoo bucks on a whole new custom rear end).
  3. mine kind of stay open, till a gust of wind hits them just right, then they slap shut.
  4. would you ship the passenger fender to 32820? if so, how much? and windshield wipers?
  5. Just curious at the moment. But I need a tailgate for my 71 truck. How much? And shipped to 32820?
  6. Damn i wish you werent all the way across the country. i could really use the passenger fender
  7. Not yet. Im buying some Isuzu p'up front shocks and going to mount them the same way they did in the minitruckin article. Also going to upgrade to disc brakes up front as soon as I get my tax refund.
  8. Mini truckin' mag just did a quick "how to bag your datsun" article a month or two ago and it shows how they did the shocks also. Its pretty a pretty basic torsion bar bag set up. I did mine the same way, but wanted to run a little bit bigger bag (slam specialties SS6) so I notched into the frame a little bit. Heres a couple pics.

I'd like to add a couple pics of my '71. 2 of my buddies (350-400 & 6'2"+ each).
  10. Thought I'd add a couple pics of the stock engine that's still kickin' between the frame rails.
  11. I'd say use them. If you do your homework and properly set up your triangulated 4link, there is no need for adjustable ends. There is rarely a time when you want to change such a small part of the suspension, unless you go with a drasticaly different tire size. Those are just another headache when they loosen up, which they will over time (unless you put some crazy threadlocker stuff on there, then you cant get it off, and might as well be a non adjustable set up.) Even if you get 4 of the same bars, same length, when you triangulate the tops or bottoms, you get the two different lengths that everyone likes to do.
  12. HAHA I wish I had the money to do that. Even one turbo would be awesome.
  13. Thanks for the welcome guys! I'll put up a couple pics of the front suspension. And Kamakazi620, I wish I could pick that up! I need some body parts for my truck. And I'm starting the process of doing an engine swap. Not of the Nissan family, unfortunately, but... I got a running chevy 4.3L V6 and 5speed trans for FREE. buddy took it out of his truck for a 350 swap. So, I'm cleaning the engine now, then once I get my income tax return, buying a rebuild kit, intake, carb, and dist. If I have extra money, then im getting a new cam and rockers, and if theres room, some headers. We'll see about those though. And I need to pick up a pair of front disc brake brackets, so I can get this thing to stop haha. Now MOAR PICS. Those are Slam SS6 bags in the front. (and the rear)
