  1. Been a while since I've been on. Since my last post I've gotten the dash in, found a fuel tank, got it re-done, installed fuel tank, installed the trans mount, got my driveshaft cut and installed, mounted and plumed the electric fuel pump, mounted the radiator and mocked up the electric fan, worked on some wiring and put my su's on. My starter came in today and i've got an auxillary fuse block coming in friday that i plan on using for all the extra shit. So this weekend I'm hoping to knock out most of the wiring that I've got left to do. Should be hearing her run for the first time in 18 years! I'll throw some pics up sometime in the next few days (please pardon my grammar/typing)
  2. Yeah.....straps didn't work out so hot. Ended up using bungees, looks alright though. As soon as my new bulbs come in for the gauges i'll throw it in and see how she fits!
  3. working on the dash some today, seeing as I have the day off. gluing the cap down and ordered some new bulbs for the gauges. Cap is pissing me off as it doesn't want to fit right, guess i'll strap it down with ratchet straps while it dries.
  4. I've got a '66 f-100 and an '83, both with 300's. The '66 however is bored out, big cam, roller rockers, offenhauser intake w/ holley 4-barrel, and 2 piece ceramic long tube headers. Also has a wide ratio toplaoder 4 speed and ford 9 inch rear end. It will DESTROY a 289 and it sounds sooo cool.......keep the sixer it will do what you want
  5. I put a 5 speed I had laying around the garage in my 240. I don't have the original shaft for the car, but I did find 2 driveshafts laying around. Problem is they are both too long. My question is, being that the '70 240's diff is slightly further forward will I need to get a drivesaft from another '70/early '71? or will any z driveshaft work?
  6. Well the car didn't always look like it does now. My dad bought it when I was little (I'm 24 now). It was a running and driving car but needed alot of work. He stripped it all way way down to the shell and re-painted it dodge viper red. He began putting it back together with all new parts, The suspension and brakes were redone with new aftermarket struts/springs/sway-bars, and poly bushings. It sat that way for years, one day he bought a parts car w/ a built L28 (p90 head, huge cam, dual downdraft webers) I fired the engine up while it was in the parts car, it sounded NASTY. Anyway one christmas me and my brother decided to put that motor in the 240 for my dad. We got it in and the car sat like that for years. He gave it to me this past summer so I hauled it to my house and here we are. All I've done so far is lay the main harness in the car and put in a 280zx 5 speed. Need to get the dash in and finish the interior. Also need to track down a driveshaft and fuel tank. oh and heres another pic of the ford..
  7. Ksaw, this z has never been on cl. Been in the family for 15+ years. And that was my first tool box also given to me by my dad. When I got it I couldn't see into the top lol
