  1. Hi all, I have a '67 520 with the original Nikki carb. I made the mistake of taking it apart to rebuild it, and the float bowl gasket disintegrated when I took the cover off. The rebuild kit came with an O-ring and paper gasket for a glass float bowl cover, but my carb has a one piece metal cover, stamped "Nikki." I was wondering if anyone has, or knows where to get, either the correct gasket for the metal cover or the two piece glass cover that the gaskets I have would work with. Thanks,
  2. I have been re-assembling a 520 I picked up in a state of severe disassembly, and it seems that somewhere along the way one of the valve keepers (the half conical lock piece, not the retainer plate) has gone missing. If anybody has a spare single, or even a set, that they would be willing to part with, please let me know what it would cost mailed to 70130.
  3. Sorry guys, in retrospect that wasn't a great first post. Let me try again. Yes, it does have the original J13, and the question I wanted to ask is threefold: Will the other J series heads, or any MG heads fit the J13? Is it likely I can get one for less than the $300 it will take to get my head back into shape? And if so, does anyone on this forum have one for sale in the Louisiana/Mississippi gulf region? Ed
  4. I recently purchased a '66 520,. It was running like crap and based on how the plugs looked it needed a headgasket. I pulled the head and it turns out it needs valve guides (which did not surprise me) and has a crack in the seat of the #3 exhaust valve (which did). Should I get it repaired (probably around $300)? How much do heads run? Anyone have one for sale (without any cracks)? I only need the bare head, my whole valve train is in good shape. Ed
