  1. Yeah we met at a stoplight once. I replaced the crank pulley(not pressed in right now), the cam, rockers, cam towers, timing chain, timing chain tensioner, some miscellaneous wiring, had the coil tested and it came up fine, replaced the plugs, and that's what I can remember off the top of my head. Oh and I drained the oil recently.
  2. Sold to Eagle Adam, couldn't have gone to a better guy. Unfortunately life happened and I'm supporting two on a wage of one.
  3. I'm having to give it up. I've been putting off selling a long time but, with a move coming very soon I don't have anywhere to store it and I need the money. I liked this little truck but, now it's time for it to go to someone else. I prefer it go to someone on Ratsun. The ad's here. http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/3670846446.html
  4. Yeah I'm hoping that between replacing rings and getting a head job, I'm really hoping it would be the head.
  5. Man I when I look back at this thread it reminds me how little time I work on the truck. Last night I got some spare time and motivation to work on the truck and ran a compression test on it. I got readings of 10 or less. Time to start looking for a new compression gauge. Gonna run compression test on it again tonight, hoping to get some good numbers. If not, it's time for that rebuild.
  6. So what's with the forum not working?

Yeah it's frustrating when I'm trying to do my daily forum stalking.

  7. Thanks again for the timing chain. It's cool to have ratsun members so close to where I live.
  8. Pictures look cool with the polarization anyways. Makes it look like you were trying to be all artisitic with your photos.
  9. So I ran into EagleAdam in traffic today and we ran over to his house and he threw me a timing chain. I got that thrown on but, I had to leave for work before I got everyting all finished up. I need to easy out a bolt in the alternator mount, attach all that wiring back together, then see if she'll fire up. It feels like it might need a new clutch, sometimes when I put the clutch to the floor it doesn't feel like it's doing anything. There doesn't seem to be any resistence like it normally has. Hoping to maybe get a shot at finishing it tonight when I get off work or tomorrow before I head to work. Money's tight since I got laid off and I am just now starting to catch up with all my bills. Wish I could have made it to the meet at the Newberg Drive in meet. Those were my old stomping grounds when I was a kid. Thanks again EagleAdam for that timing chain!
  10. Just scored a new job at CHS Machining! I'll be working on heads for race engines!

      I start thursday!

  11. Well tore into the truck again tonight. Got it all tore down to do the timing and got at what I think is top dead center. I used the screwdriver in the number 1 sparkplug hole trick. I had to quit early to keep my back from hurting too much. I'll take pictures maybe later tonight or tomorrow.
  12. I was planning on throwing money at my truck these next couple months but I got screwed over in taxes, so we will have to see how quickly I can get that cleared up.
  13. I was wondering if I should just cut out the voltage regulator and try to find a new one or can I just rewire the one that's in there right now?
  14. So here is the new oics I promised. Here it is in it's new garage. No longer out in the cold! My tools all scattered and unorganized after the move. My other hobby is mopeds and I had a group of Puddlecutters come through and give me this as a tip at work. Working on covering my seat with a mexican blanket I've had forever. Here's the regulator that's been cut out for some reason. I'll take more pictures later.
  15. Well today I cleaned up my ratty datsun, I spent the whole afternoon cleaning, waxing, and shining. I post oics in the morning when the light is better. I started working on the interior while I wait for my next paycheck. Going to be ordering a new timing chain, and looking for new toys for my baby.
