  1. it's all good. i lived in america for 6 months last year, so i know he represents a very small portion of the american population!
  2. that's like me calling you a canuck..... maybe that's why he didn't reply to you hey...
  3. kiwi's are new zealanders my friend! not aussies..
  4. Hi, so what exactly did you have to do to make this work? i have a 66 P411 wagon and have been reading up on doing a disc conversion. i can get all of the 510 parts fine, but finding the 411 parts is the hard part!!
  5. Cheers Bonvo!! Bob3, here's a link to the radiator i bought... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270994454138&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:AU:1123 when it arrived at my house, it was twisted. so i had to straighten it, and then i had to get alot of changes made to it. i got the filler neck shortened, the mounting brackets flipped around to the other side, and had to cut and shut both the inlet and outlet. i managed to get it pretty sweet. im super happy with it now... when it turned up, i was pissed off at how out of shape it was, but being aluminium and soft, it was relatively easy to bend back. hope this helps
  6. I HAVE MY DATTO ON THE ROAD!!!! i have finally been able to register the old girl a couple of days back after having it for about 2 years!! she passed all checks and tests with flying colours!! even had a few people from the vehicle inspection place come out and take photos!! hahaha I have completely reconditioned the front brakes and components (re-sleeved brake cylinders, new hoses, new hardlines, new shoes, cleaned up the drum etc), but its still pretty average to stop. i have ordered a VH44 remote brake booster, not sure whether to put it just on the fronts, or all 4?? can anyone help? i will have to get all new rubber seals for my doors, glass etc... i gave it a wash, and it has soo many leaks!! anyone know where i could source some from?? my odometer is buggered, the gear that drives the odometer from the speed cable mecahnism has rounded off, so i am going to be replacing pretty much the entire dash. new gauges including a tacho. everything else is running pretty sweet. over the next few months, i'll be looking at mounting up a supercharger, but in no hurry to do so! just enjoying driving the old girl and turning heads!
  7. cant seem to find him, can you post a link please?
  8. hey guys n gals, im after a front left hand side brake cylinder for my 66 411. ive been told that they may be the same as some SP310's or something. all i know is they have a big L1 moulded on them! thanks
  9. hahaha.. definitely not for the strip!! haha i originally was going to re-build the original J13 and stick an AMR500 on it... i have come across a brand spankin new J16, so will probably be sticking an SC14 on it... if it will fit in my engine bay.... no photos of the charger yet, only some pics of the 411 on my 411 shwagon thread. any info on carbs would be awesome.. ive had a look around the sites, but i cant see that a J motor has been blown before.. they may be a good reason for it but im gonna find out!! hahaha
  10. Hi guys n gals, just wondering what peoples opinions are on what sort of carby/carbies i should be running on a new, stock J16 with an SC14 charger. i havent had anything to do with chargers before, so any help will be great! thanks shane
  11. so its pic time!!! ive taken these over the last month just a photo of my brand spanker J16, just unwrapped out of the plastic and took the head off i removed all of the original paint, cleaned it up and this is her in primer this is the motors new colour... its late at night so you dont get a great picture but u get the idea... i removed the sh@tty paint from pretty much everything that i could get to, and re-sprayed it. i removed the original sump to fit my modified sump.. all soo shiney!!! this is my modified sump all painted up and ready to go on just another pic of my painted fresh 1600 finally gave her a wash after about a year!!! scrubs up alright i reckon! this is my aluminium radiator that i had to modify a wee bit.. it came up great tho. engine and everything in! fired up second time... fuel float wasnt set properly the first... a wee bit of clearance! its hard to tell from the photo but there is actually a fair bit. definitely enough for some wider belt pulleys for my AMR 500 supercharger that will be going in eventually!! let me know what you think!!! cheers shane
  12. how much all up do you think your disc conversion cost you? i want to go discs eventually, but i also want to get it on the road asap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Roadster-SPL310-410-411-Front-Right-Upper-Wheel-Cylinder-41100-10600-/281059811208?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4170785f88&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-41103-18400-SPL310-PL312-PL410-PL411-Frt-LH-Lower-Wheel-Cylinder-Assembly-/350642415204?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51a3eaa664&vxp=mtr above are the links i was talking about. they are 1" unlike the earlier models which were a wee bit smaller.
  13. hi, did you end up finding any new cylinders?
  14. hey guys n gals, i have a 66' 411 wagon and am looking to freshen up my front brakes as one of the cylinders is rooted. does anyone know where i can get new front upper and lower cylinders from? i may as well do both sides while i am at it. any info would be awesome. there are a couple of ebay, one left and one right. but need two of each. thanks!!! shane
  15. ok, so a bit of an update with some pics to come very soon!!!!! I have stripped and re-sprayed the brand new J16, installed a fair few new components, basically only re-using the starter motor and alternator. installed the motor in the engine bay along with the new high volume custom sump installed a brand new aluminium radiator re-ran all of the brake lines and both rear brake cylinders re-ran the clutch line and replaced the master cylinder. new fuel lines and electronic fuel pump re-wired the entire car with a kit from EZ-WIRING, which I adapted to my car hidden the majority of the wiring in the process fixed all of the lights etc that werent working installed new horns installed new electronic retractable aerial new battery installed a new 2" exhaust system from the exhaust manifold back. (will be making up headers soon) still to do: replace all 4 front brake cylinders do a bit of suspension work replace all rubbers replace/re-install carpet install more stereo! make up headers, an intake manifold, brackets etc and install the AMR500 supercharger. ive been able to finally work on my car and put some decent hours in. im sure I have forgotten a bit of what I have done, but thats it for now!
