  1. http://nashville.craigslist.org/pts/2910702228.html Someone pick it up and get it running again. They have no idea what it even is.
  2. Just the fronts. And it was definitely both sides of the front. hmmm, both sides were definitely locked at some point. Wouldn't it be weird for both sides to lock and both brake hoses to be the culprit? i guess stranger things have happened. The rubber hoses look relatively new. Something of note, when I was removing the wheels, one side was still locked while the other was not. Not sure if that means anything though.
  3. Last week I upgraded to 280zx struts/brakes. http://community.rat...roke-something/ I still have drums in the rear so I stuck with the 510 master cylinder. Last night driving home, I let off the gas pedal and the car felt like the brakes were being applied. I went to pull over and applied the brakes and the pedal was super stiff. When I finally got pulled over smoke was pouring out of both wheel wells! I tore it all apart this morning and you can see where the pads were stuck on the rotor. I had to open the bleeder in order to get the caliper off. I have rebuilt calipers that I was going to put on this weekend anyway, but I'm starting to think that the master cylinder got stuck or something. What do you guys think?
  4. My uncle got back to me with a little more details:
  5. wow... your datsun/mechanical knowledge is great!! Thanks!
  6. I knew my mom used to have a B210 but had completely forgotten that my uncle (who is a mechanic in florida) used to have a 510. No wonder I've been a Nissan fan He hasn't gotten back to me about the details yet but here's some pics!
  7. Spindle nut is still on there!! The caliper is definitely seized so I think Mike is right. Anyway, its back on the road!! At the moment I'm reusing the original bearings, calipers, and rotors but its making some weird noises. So, i went ahead and ordered everything to replace the used parts. Also I see coilovers in my future.
  8. Meh. My speedo is bouncing between 85-100 mph going down the interstate. Meanwhile cars are passing me. I just gave up
  9. Hopefully I'll get it back in the road tomorrow! I'm kinda worried that I'm not going to be able to get it as low as it was before but we'll see. I thought I would share this: I was putting it back together last night and was trying to figure out a way to make height adjustments easily. I already had a spring compressor I picked up from O'reilly's so I went and picked up some nuts and washers from Ace and bam! easy in car adjustment!
  10. You are the man! Found some complete 280sx strut assembly's in a junkyard friday for $130 in great condition. Split collars for $15 each. New ball joints, pads, etc Got the perches off last night and grounded down the welds and painted them.
  11. you're telling me! I just hope he still has them and can ship them this week.
  12. Just got done reading a couple threads about it. I was kinda hoping for a straight bolt on to speed up the process rather than having to have the spring perch welded but whatever at this point. Thanks for the suggestions
  13. Thanks guys! When the wheel came loose the fender edge dropped down into the groove on the tire. I'm pretty sure thats the only reason I didn't completely lose control of the car and I just got new tires last thursday. I actually have a spare set of strut assemblies but I'm going to need to find hubs. Will the 280zx hubs bolt on to 510 strut assembly? I'm assuming I can get the rotor, bearings, rebuilt calipers, seals etc at a parts store. I just need to get the car drivable again as its my daily...I rode the motorcycle this morning to work and I'm still cold.
