Hey guys, i'm a noob with a '74 620 and slowly realizing this datsun stuff is just as, if not more addicting than small block chevy's and minibikes. I just a got a short tube header and a turbo muffler for the l18 that's in it, and i was wonderin what all can i shitcan? its smog exempt so i was thinking to make a block off plate for the EGR stuff to clean up the underhood, only thing is that the crank vent tube goes to the PCV valve which is in that mess on the side of the intake manifold. Can i just put a breather filter on that crank vent tube? Also there's a line that comes from the gas tank to EGR stuff, is it ok to put like a vacuum cap on that line or is that a deal for venting the tank? And last, and i gonna lose any power? I'm still new to all of this and the forums so these are probably redundant questions lol...

You guys were right! I could call you guys my best friends and i don't really know ya lol! I put the 4-speed T/O collar on and it worked perfect and she chases down the asphalt again

thank you guys a lot! tomorrow i'll have it out from under my truck and measure the T/O bearing collars. i'll give it a shot with the 4-spd bearing collar and see if it works. if not i'll probly be back with more overlooked-obvious questions

Hi guys i'm new to this forum, and to owning a datsun pickup! well, my truck had a 4spd in it and i bought a 5 speed from a guy a couple towns over, it has a dogleg shift pattern and he said it came out of a 77-79 620 pickup?? it bolted up behind the L18, everything fit correctly with a driveshaft mod and now, the clutch wont engage... even with the slave completely unhooked it still wont engage the clutch. i'm stumped because both transmissions (4spd i took out and 5spd i put in) both have 24 splines. did they have a different clutch in the later years? If i could get some better knowledge it would be greatly appreciated.
