  2. I hope someone bought this! I got mine for $350 and the best running setup ever! If its still available for that price ill buy it now!
  3. I am selling my twin mikuni/solex pph setup with cannon intake manifold. The manifold has been professionally welded on the rear head side port flange. I could not find a kit for these so I custom cut new top gaskets and went through them. I ran these on my 521 with L16 and they ran smooth but they were too much fuel for it. They are setup for a 2 liter. No stacks filters or spacers. Kitsap county Wa. no shipping $350 cash

  5. Havnt been here in forever and realized I should at least say hi now and again. Looks like this site is loaded with new datto peeps and lots of em... I guess my only updates would be that I still roll the same dime and 521 that I will drive til the day I die. :cool: wrenchin on a super beetle currently and should be dropping a LZ24 in my 76 620 LB very soon. Been crazy busy playing in 2 bands and playing tons of shows and dropping many miles on my 521 as our main band rig. Damn that thing is indestructible. Just thought I'd drop in and say what up.   6. not very local but I just swapped mine out with a rebuilt one. puget sound seattle area of washington. would need an overbore and new pistons.. runs great but smokes a bit due to sidewall scoring and a gouge in one piston from a dropped valve seat. $100
  7. Glad you got those pics up kevin. Sorry I dont frequent the site much anymore but im sure Bleach would verify I am still very much a die hard datto freak... Happy to hear the praise on the work but cant wait for the critiquing sure to follow some day when its rollin down the road. :D This is not the same car I originally met. I under bid it and ended up with a serious handful...however,this has been a project that has had a huge impact on my life. This has proven to myself that I am capable of any task I set out to finish. I have never given up at anything and I stand proud that I follow through with my commitments. Now come get your fucking car out of my garage!!! LOL JK... See ya sunday Bleach!!!

    bad spark plugs?

    Are you sure its a misfire issue? How do you know its only one cylinder? Have you pulled off wires while its running? Ive had similar issues that turned out being vacuum leaks or faulty carb.
  9. Thats the stuff. That makes sense,Im over thinking the whole thing a bit but it does seem a little loose still. But my L16 runs killer with a slack happy chain. I have jumped teeth several times. Head shaved into the a87 stamp with no shims. I just dont want this one to rattle like it does though.

  11. Well I think with an open chamber u67 I should be in the mid to high 9.1s This is a mock assembly without a head gasket so that would make up a bit but its got a bit of slack to go. See the chain tensioner rod? the old oil wear mark shows that its out way further. Had issues with the guides too. Had to bent the drivers side one to clear the head. Since its taller the angles make things intersect. No wonder people dont build this motor. haha
  12. I have been doing some work here and there on my LZ 24 build and the chain link issue has me concerned. I got the mercedes master links and have assembled it with 4 extra links but it seems a little sloppy. I went 3 and too tight,2 no deal at all. It seems to me that 2 masters replacing 1 would set it all off a half a link. What I consider 1 link is 2 rollers where 1 gear tooth sits between. I want to be sure it will time in correctly before it goes in something. Heres some pics.
  13. Sorry no video. I have a borla on both my datsuns. 2 1/4" pipe on the truck/L16 2" on the dime/L20b/sidedraft. The truck has a slightly larger muff but has a few feet of pipe behind it and it has the best tone Ive ever had,I love it. I had to put a glasspack ahead of the one in the dime because it was too freakin loud but it sounds great too. Borlas rock,all mine are used too. Check local muffler shops for takeoffs and save some$$$ Tons of people have loud shit pulled off because they get tickets.
