Long time since I've been here. Don't know what part of WA you are in, but I see FSJ axles on CL all the time. I just happen to have a degree in Jeepology and roots back to a 411 SSS 4 dr convertible and SD33T in military tugs.
I'm looking for a body to put the NAP-Z24 and 5 speed I have from an '84 720 pickup that was wrecked (for the second time so it can't be retitled)
Possibly something different, but not a sedan.
If not, then I'll sell the drivetrain for $350 and scrap what I don't need to make a trailer out of.
Sorry I meant LD28, not LD24 (fat fingers or wandering mind!) On another thought, will E4N71 from an 85 Maxima (L24 gas, RWD) automatic hook up with a married tcase, say from a Pathfinder?
Pics can be posted later. I have a short vid of the motor running. Throw out bearing is bad. Truck can't be re-registered due to being written off twice already. I think it's 124K (will double check odo) It will pulled in 2 weeks time. First $350 takes it.
Rest of the truck will become my trailer and parts for my "new" truck.
I originally joined here looking for a reasonable priced B210 fastback to put this into. (I did several with L16,18 and Z20 in the past)
I found a Nissan diesel pickup and a diesel Maxima LD24 instead.
Check the manual adjusters aren't stuck. Adjust them out till the brakes drag, then slide the adjuster back and forth through the backing plate and adjust again. I used to do that a LOT on the old Sunraders.
All you need to fix Fords is different sized hammers! (sez the retired Ford Tech)
Check you don't have your dist cap 180 out. The notch that lines it up will lift one side and the spark won't jump (been there, did that in my younger days)
Hopefully close to Lynnwood and reasonably priced. Condition of the motor doesn't matter as I plan to swap in the Z24 and 5 speed from my '84 720 (bought it a year ago and it was totaled by a hit and run driver before I even got the title transferred or insurance) I had a '74 years ago that I did an L20B from a 510 swap in, so I'm fairly confident in doing it again. It'll be my econobox for those long trips (I live 60 miles from work and the 454 in my '82 Chev is killing me for fuel)
