ok drove it for over 20 minutes today and it wouldn't act up. its a 12 valve SOHC KA24E 2.4 Fuel injection

my husband just brought home a 1990 stanza. i think the motor is a 2400. its a automatic and it will drive fine for about 15 min then it cuts out when anything but at an idle. i searched but didnt find anything. could you point me in the right direction?
