they do tarnish quite badly and those sr blocks are porous its super hard to scrub the dirt off them, I spent SEVERAL and by several I mean probably 10-12 hours scrubbing every nook and cranny from my sr block, degreaser, wire brush, aluminum brightener, rinse repeat, over and over and over. I could see how painting it would help with future cleaning . That aluminum stains so easily.

One time Me and a few guys were hanging out and we stopped and ate at dairy queen, when we were done we still had a bunch of ice cream left over and we took it with us. Jokingly I said hey wouldnt it be funny if there was a couple of black guys walking down the street we could ice cream the shit out of em. What do ya know I look up and two black dudes walking down the street acting all gangsta and wanksta, we rolled down the windows and unloaded. We nailed em, rolled up the windows and it was silent for about 30 seconds, I turned around to the other guys and we knew that shit was so wrong, but at the time it was funny as hell. at least they got some free ice cream.
