  1. any1 know what will fit the 720 wing window glass? besides the obvious original 720 window. :P or any ideas that wud work?
  2. ok, those air induction pipes coming up from the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner, on the nap-z engine, can those be done away with? holy hell they're burning hot (duh, exhaust), and it'll backfire with those connected. any ideas if i can totally do away with all the pathetic air cleaner shit? evidently everyone's doing away with it this time of year. i'm just pissed off with those pipes. BTW what else is so special about that air cleaner? (besides smog) all these useless looking hoses. Can't wait for the KA. gotta get by for right now tho.
  3. OK, i've still got the oem front (and rear) chrome bumper on my 720. I was looking for Christmas presents, and am looking for the end bumper caps on the front bumper. Since they are chipping and black, I'd love to get chrome ones like the ones from 83 and up. would they fit on my 81 bumper? They have them on capartswholesale.com and would love to put them on. Oh, btw, did anyone ever use the wal mart bed liner?

    damn truck

maybe that drain could be the stereo, but its not that bad. that stereo could have been too much for a 2 year old sitting battery. I'll just swap the battery (60 month warranty Nappa) and see how it goes from there. If that works, well... it works. If it doesn't new alt, or more exploring. Can't wait for my KA.

    damn truck

Ok, I was getting ready to leave school, as usual, when my truck wouldn't start. no biggie, i thought, except I forgot cables. So, me and my friends push started it. got home and sat, tried starting it again, it didn't start, so I jumped it. worked fine. Same thing happened the next day though, and then I got worried. Checked the voltage on the battery, perfectly fine. I can't start the truck unless it is jumped, or is push started, wtf! my friend said it might be the ignition switch, I replaced the tumbler not to long ago, but not the switch. could that be it?
  7. Ok, I gotta go. Now, do I have enough money to get gas for the drive down there.:cursing:
  8. Anyone know the curb weight of the datsun pickups, specifically the 720? I kinda wanted to know in comparison to the trucks of today. To me, the things are freggin light, gotta be less without all of the crap on today's cars and trucks. Don't have to have exact decimal weight, just the closest you can get.
  9. Thank God, another one. Thought I was pretty much alone in the 720 world.
  10. Ok, the day finally came to take the DMV behind-the-wheel test to get my license. The people there always look like they have a pipe up their asses, so I try to be nice to the instructor, but she just gets in the car with me, and tells me to go. Yeah I missed a couple of stupid points (30 in a residential, 5mph over; dumbshits deciding whether or not to cross the crosswalk, and when they decide to cross, I was inside the crosswalk.)but long story short, I passed.:) Anyway, I got to go home, then pick up some paint stuff with my brother and drop some bills off with my mother. After that, I finally get to have some alone time with my datto.:D I leave, getting about 3 miles out from my house when the car wouldn't stop accelerating. I shifted into neutral, pulled over, thinking that the throttle cable, pedal, or spring came loose or got stuck, nope. had to drive it to the shop (garage) with it running at about 1/3 speed racing the whole time, probably wearing my clutch and my brakes the whole time. Turns out, the float pin (not sure if that's what its called, but I call it that) in the carburetor broke. I have to rebuild the whole carburetor:mad:, and not only that, I found that there is a few (3) small cracks in my intake manifold. After working for 27 years full time for my grandpa, it had to die with me on my first day with my license. wonderful:(
  11. Hey dreamer, I saw those tailgates there at Pick-a-Part. That place is hard to find. But it's really nice, found a couple 720s and a few 620s there, better than ecology and Pick-and-Pull, a lot cleaner:D.

    Noob question

See Mike, you're in the lucky land above us, without obnoxiously loud activists that say the world is going all to hell because the ice caps are melting(must be nice for you guys), and blame cars becuase of it. And Californians are at the heart of stupid behavior. Put that aside, (sorry to vent on you Mike, you probably realize this already) I don't know if the LZ is completely smog legal in Cali. ---------------- Now playing: Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love via FoxyTunes

    Noob question

funny thing is, I can get a decent KA24E pretty soon. My problem is, he can't get enough money for his 350 Chevy.(Don't know why I can't have it[KA], he doesn't even drive the damn thing.) It would be nice to see that engine in my little truck. Everything should bolt up pretty easy, even the smog:thumbdown:stuff, right?,save the motor mounts. But I'm looking for a little performance increase now, as a temporary solution. (if anyone read my previous thread on performance, the lady postponed her project, and I can't get that much money now. ---------------- Now playing: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication via FoxyTunes

    Noob question

I'm kinda confused on the SU carbs. I've asked a couple people, and some say they aren't worth it, yet some people like them a lot. The youtube videos of people running turbos off of them intrigue me, wondering how well considering the high temps with the turbo. It looks as if it would be way easier than setting up EFI, but that's from my inexperienced eyes. Plus I can swap back to OEM specs easier. (again from inexperienced eyes.) And the last and most important question is... What do you gain with all of that? Thanks, Mike Sorry if this has been asked before, I did try searching.:)
