GOOD GRIEF ! ! ! I really haven't done anything in almost 2 years ? ! ? ! ? ?

Well, hopefully that is about to change. I plan within the next two weeks to take this project up to Maaco and get an estimate on finish bodywork and paint. The engine will be coming out soon from Funtana which will be rebuilt and installed in the RHD truck. After that, it's install the dash.................

UPDATE ! !

It looks like this is the year that the RHD project gets finished ! ! ! :D On Friday I trailered the truck and all of the pieces to a body shop in Hesperia,CA. This shop just did an awesome job on Jason's 620 and He refered Me. Also, the engine that was in Funtana is being rebuilt. It is an 1800 (unlike none I have ever seen before. It has a bolt on upright oil filter bracket that will clear the RHD steering column.) The engine and bodywork/paint should be done in May and shortly thereafter assembly will begin. Imagine it looking just like this:

Except in stock Datsun factory blue. Yes, it will have Japanese fender mirrors and those "flower" hubcaps. On that subject, I STILL NEED at least 2 more of those hubcaps!!! Please note that the truck hubcaps are 6 "petal" unlike the Z car hubcaps that are 5 "petal". Stay tuned!!

Well, I guess I haven't been on here since the truck was painted and brought home. It turned out nicely and My hats off to Rudy's Body Shop in Hesperia, CA. Here are some shots of how it turned out.

A few weeks ago I was introduced to a guy in Las Vegas that is also building a RHD 620. His name is Darren and He bought all of His RHD components from Greiggy in Australia. He came down to see how I was doing Mine and compare methods. Where My RHD truck is pretty much going to be stock looking, Darren's will be custom, sporting such features as suicide doors, etc. We got in a big discussion on dashes and during His visit today, We opened up the two that I had acquired. So, without further ado, here is what it looks like to open CHRISTmas packages in April ! !

I am waiting now on new windshield and rear window seals. When they arrive a new windshield will be installed and then the dash. After that (I hope) its just start putting it all together.
