phiz
Okay, now I've discovered my relay got fried. After an intense search for a part no longer in production, I found a new one in Texas (yee-har!) part # B5230E4185. Hopefully I'll see it sometime next week. In the mean time..... Are these rebuildable, (well, I guess anything is rebuildable.), has anyone here ever attemped to rebuild one? Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
For the time being you can't just use a bosch unit? Quote Link to comment
phiz
I don't know, can I? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
What relay you talking about. The 2nd set of points relay? I just dont use the 2nd set of points and throw that relay away!!!!!!!!! Use one wire from main points to neg side of coil there will b e a blkwire with red stripas the main point wire. this will hook up to the main side of the points Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
You'd have to ohm out the relay. If the coil is an open, NO, you can not rebuild it. If the coil is good and the contacts are not making a good connection, then you should be able to clean the contacts and reuse it. Without pics, it just a guess that you can even get the can open. oh....I'd just do like Hainz said anyway. The second set of points is for emissions, not for performance. If you have an EI dizzy in, the relay isn't used anyway. This is all provided we are talking about the same relay. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Ah, Datsun B110 has the solution: No relay for distributor. Why use a relay? Quote Link to comment
