tangent Posted June 18, 2007 Report Share Posted June 18, 2007 http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/351764672.html So Laura finds this 510 in Dallas.. the pictures we get emailed look good, so we make the 3 hr drive down there in her brothers noisy gas guzzler truck to buy it and tow it home.. Turns out when we get there the pictures must have been old and the bondo has started to crack and fall off and the tip of the ugly cancer is rearing its head.. you could see all over where the bondo was cracking and the pieces that had fallen out completely looked to be nearly a quarter of an inch thick.. the rear quarter panel was rusted all the way through about the size of a football.. anyhow.. I had to drive down there and look. If anyone is in the south... for your reference the front looks pretty clean.. and ive got some more pics if you want to see them, and the lady had a bunch of parts for sale as well the vehicle is in THE COLONY, outside of dallas, at the NEW COLONY TIRE AND AUTO SHOP NOW TO THE GOOD PART OF THE STORY!! So we drive back and go to dinner with my dad, he asks me what we were doing in dallas... He then procedes to tell me that i should email him what type of cars im looking for because his buisness partner runs across all manner of unique cars.. then asks me if I know what a Skyline is.. And Im like... Uhh the right hand drive ones...?? and hes like "Yeah.. yada yada yada.. everytime we drive it around in dallas we get lots of looks, I guess there is only like 17 in the states" they just bought and sold one older one for like $60,000 or something crazy and they have one right now, like a $120,000 car, sounds crazy but.. hes no bullshitter.. He is going to send me some pictures of It next time he is in Dallas... What I was too dumbfounded to ask was... WHEN CAN I DRIVE IT?!!??!?!! Im just a Carpenter, it would be the closest I would ever get to having one. Quote Link to comment

O wait I looked again, I guess 1500 isn't to bad, offer him 800 in an email with your phone number. He will call you in a month or so. A burnt orange R34 the guy bought it from the guys who did Need for Speed Underground 2, it has 19's, tv's,NOS bottles, mainly a show car. There is also a R32 and R33 that run up here at our dragstrip. Both very clean! That rust looks about like my 68 4dr does, hate to see them get that way. Quote Link to comment

It took me the whole "big" bottle of 25 75 to fix all the rust! well maybee so, but the whole rear panel looked as if it was made of bondo.. and the doors had big cracks in them.. I guess Im not as ratsun as I could be because it scared me off my Trucks are pretty damn clean man.. I could be spoiled.. If it was rusted it would have been one thing, but to see the bondo falling out of the places that were rusted, I got scared, scared of what i could not see not what I could see.. Id rather it was dented and rusted with factory paint so I could know what I was dealing with.. But I think your Idea is a good one.. Quote Link to comment
