cobra269
Sort of a direct drop-in LED Headlight Swap!No harness changes, plugs right in... However, you will either need to grab some longer bolts for the headlight retainer rings, or trim the inside of the Headlight Buckets to fit these in, because the ass end of the headlight seats deeper... I opted for the Longer Bolts for now, until I can mod another set of spare buckets...No need to upgrade wiring harness for higher amperage headlights! Stock alternator does the job! Works with 510's, 620's and all other Datsun's with the 5.75" headlights...As the post states, my ampere ratings are off some, but you get the general idea...I bought all 4 for my 620... A bit pricey, but cheap compared to the Authentic Harley Davidson Day Maker Headlights... If you do a more robust search, you can find others similar with the Halo like BMW's in multiple colors. You will see examples form other users in my facebook post...These are called "Harley Davidson Day Maker Clones"... They can be found on Amazon (Links Below)...(Chrome)https://www.amazon.com/Bicyaco-Brightest-Headlight-Sportster-Projector/dp/B074PR34BK/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1525672534&sr=1-3&keywords=harley+daymaker(Black)https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CL3EVUI/ref=psdc_8323665011_t5_B01DZU30S0Ignore the "pcs" portion in the description for the Black Ones, you get one headlight that has 9 LED's in it on high beam mode... 9 LED's is common for both black or chrome...I do not have any way to post media, so I will post a link to my post on facebook in a group I am in... Not trying to spam, just a simple link to the post for information... Video in post!https://www.facebook.com/groups/211327615572473/permalink/1643134129058474/ 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I looked at LEDs (saw them but already had the projectors) but there were so many makes making so many claims I went with HID. The big thing was the focal point. And it has to be bright which is a relative term. Would love to see side by side comparison. LEDs are the new thing. 1 Quote Link to comment
cobra269
Side by Side, LED runs away with the cake... My before video got flagged and deleted by facebook because my music was playing in the background... 1 Quote Link to comment
Hawaiian620
I got the LED head lights below. I ended up using a dremel to cut the light housing to fit, instead of cutting the sheet metal, just in case I decided to go back to stock lights. Wiring wise its plug and play. The LEDs are a lot brighter than halogen. Also, the LEDs will work in the inside housing and work has high beams only if you wanted to replace all four. I made sure to test them in both housings. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DZU30S0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Low beam High beams 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Low beam pass side looks 5K and the drivers 6K. Could be the camera position that produces that green tint but floor looks brighter on the driver's side too. I have 6K for my high beams and they are green tint (very slight) compared to the low beams. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ah, I see the driver's side is the LED.... So does the low beam have a cut off pattern or does it blind oncoming traffic? 1 Quote Link to comment

Sorry for the late response. Yes the low beam has it's own pattern. When you turn on the high beams the lights switch from low to high. However when I hooked them up to the middle lights they only came on as high beams like normal. I'll take better pictures from in the cab with both outside lights installed when I'm home in a few weeks. I'll do in both high and low. I'll be able to give you better input regarding the color too. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I ordered a second set of HID and asked for 6K and they have that tint. I think white sunlight is 5K to 5.5K. I'm not keen on those purple 9K lights because the human eye evolved to see best in sunlight. Anything else is color and less visible. As for LEDs, the lumen ratings are exaggerated I think. It's like every manufacturer tries to outdo the others by printing higher numbers. 1 Quote Link to comment

The light is white, maybe a little blue, but not bad. 3 Quote Link to comment

cobra269
Be Advised: Not all LED Headlights are direct drop ins... Mine plugged right in and worked with no wiring modifications, but if you buy a different brand, you may have to eject the ground and low-beam wires from the molex on your harness and reverse them. You might have to switch the wiring even more than that, it just depends on the standards of the headlight where it is manufactured! If you buy from the links I provided in this post, you should not have any issues other than what has already been described. Quote Link to comment
