ChrisGoHard
A local junkyard has a 240z. I was wondering if the front struts are the same as the 280zx struts as that's what everyone seems to recommend using to upgrade the front suspension. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think you can make them work but the 280zx are the ones you want. The spindle angle on the earlier ones may be different, Anyone? I have Maxima struts in my 710 and they are within a hair of being the same as the 280zx struts, massive caliper and vented rotor. Quote Link to comment
ChrisGoHard
Ok I found a guy parting out a 280z. Not a 280zx. Is there any difference between them as far as strut assemblies? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Ok I found a guy parting out a 280z. Not a 280zx. Is there any difference between them as far as strut assemblies? You only want 280ZX. Nothing else. 240Z/280Z spindla angle is wrong, bolt pattern is wrong, everything is wrong. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can lower conservatively on your stock struts if you want. The 210 also has the larger wheel bearings just like the 280zx ones. The difference is really the strut length (which is shorter) and the massive caliper and vented rotor brake up grade you get with the zx struts. Quote Link to comment

scooter
If you cant find zx, s12 works but you have to monkey with the receiver ring groove or use rca's that account for this. Quote Link to comment
