what motor you have in tthis 510?

If L16 then the mount or holes will have to be enlarged. Not a drop in fit other wise get the stock alternator.(the GM alt)

If you have a L18/20 then get a 74/75 610/710 50amp as it has the bigger bolt holes.

If L16 Rockauto.com and parksgeek sells brand new Chinese stock type for like 65/70bucks.

If you want a 30min alt change get the alt for the exact year car. If its still a L16.

Im not a mind reader of your 510 maybe it has had 3 motor changes since new

One wire alts didnt come oem. Aftermarket or rebuild a standard gm one with a one wire conversion.

Another thread mentions marine grade hitachi which looks exact match but 70-80 amps. Saturn 90-95amp ones work but really should have larger pulley. Datsun high revs killed 2 in the 521

RockAuto/PartsGeek does list brand new ones but they made ein China. Power select brand.

Last 2 alt I got from  1 from Autozone and 1 from O Rileys are Chinese clones also but say rebuilt . They dont have the Hitachi or Mishibishi case marking on them.

I am assume the cores are even wearing out.

Iam running a O riley chese rebuid right now. Havent tried the NEW Chinese clone yet.

Nothing wrong with the GM units esp if brand new USA(those should last forever). Just they are not a drop in unit as most people think for the average Datsun kid(owner). Esp if a L16 in a 521(use the smaller bolts)

. a 510 has more room to work with and is EZer. as for that 80 amper as mention above this is a Chinese clone also (one I saw pictured)
