Info on seats for my truck

Hi I am new to the Datsun scene and just bought a 67 Datsun 520... besides motor and trans I want to keep the truck pretty original looking...any good leads on what key words to use or website to use on this adventure.... any help is appreciated and I look forward to this new adventure

parts I need right now:

Door mirrors

Working cluster

Bench seat

I guess Project Datto or the 520/521 forum and read the build projects to see what others did about them. Or just start a post asking what they did to repair or replace these items. You could also try a want ad here... http://community.ratsun.net/classifieds/category/3-datsun-parts/?sort_key=date_added&sort_order=desc  ... and see if someone has one they want to sell or give away.

Where are you in TX? I'm in SA. How much of a cluster do you have (none at all, or one that's not working)? I may have parts and/or be able to help you get working if you are local to me.

The door mirrors were installed by the dealers, there likely were hundreds of different types depending on what dealer and where they were sold, most installed big ugly mirrors, find something vintage you like and install them.

What exactly is wrong with your instrument cluster?

Do you have your bench seat or at least the frame, if you have the sliders you could put them on a 620 bench seat and use that, 520/521 bench seats are the same except for maybe the seat material design.

i have a modified fork lift seat in there now that works but not the greatest thanks for info on the seats

i have a full cluster but only the fuel gause works...nothing else

i dont and truck came with like a modified fork lift type seat so thats gotta go asap

Temp gauge...

 

 

Find the sender on the head or near the thermostat, I don't know where on the J13, probably has a Yellow/White stripe wire to it. Wire may be off. Ground this wire and temp gauge should read full HOT. If it does then the gauge is fine and the wire back to it. If not then gauge or wire back to it is broken. Clean the sender contact and connect the wire. If no reading the sender is bad.
