SR20DET TURBO

Benn watching videos of 510's with this motor set up, it looks like it would be fun to have. I expect it cost a good bit plus the other things that go along with it to work.

They are cool but so over done in my opinion. Here in Cali there like flies on shit, at the local car shows thats all you see. Me well FJ20 for the win and L series with some modern touches.  But don't get me wrong like Icehouse said they are fun once converted.

I have a hard time getting in that mind set, since I daily my car I love the reliability of the SR the power and good fuel economy.  I do go to Canby every year and don't mind seeing other 510's with the same engine.  I have been trying the buy an FJ off a friends husband, bastard won't sell it.  It's for a car I wouldn't daily so for the right car I know what you mean.  I just love the power of a turbo SR.

I agree great engine, just at the shows its like looking at different color valve covers. But yes they are great engines.

So the important question here is what is the build goal? Solid daily or show piece? Sr is nice for the daily.

If I did one I would use regularly, it's a dream now but not being home only 2 days makes it less feasible than being there all the time. I don't know what the cost would be but like I said it's a dream now. I have an L20B to put in the blue 510 that's all apart. I do plan to get that L20B put together hear this summer some time, it's been sitting too long. But still I'm dreaming of a SR20DET Turbo. I think I'll put it on my bucket list just in case I use that L20B in my 72 gold 510.
