Hobojordo
I have 2 parts Nissan hardbodys...one from 91 have a 3.0 L VG30E V6 4x4, the other from 89 has a za24i 2x4. The v6 ran great, frame rotted out..the z24i was questionable, it was given to me and has a wired on distributor cap, ran really rough..now it's been parked for years.. So someone is selling a 88 hardbody 4x4 with a z24, but it has a misfire and 300,000k plus. Before I go get it a couple hours away I want to know if I will be able to put the 3.0 L VG30E V6 in it easily should it not be fixable as is...will the v6 motor and tranny bolt right in? Or is it a major pain? (Wiring harness etc).. Quote Link to comment
racerx
is your state's DMV okay with this swap. They get picky here in Calif. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You have everything you need for this, and of course the V6 will have different EFI wiring ... but you have the correct harness on the '91. The engine mount placement on the frame may be different from the 4 cylinder, or maybe not. You will need to swap the entire transmission/trans case with the V6 into the '88. I can't think of a good reason this cannot happen. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
No info about what the swap candidate is. Time, money, and a welder. Git 'r dun. 1 Quote Link to comment
