Search function not working!  I thought I read that a 200sx rear axle assembly is a good swap for the 510 Wagon......??  What generation 200sx??  I have a 1984 200sx PARTS CAR available to me, but it is not nearby, and I do not know if it is a solid rear axle assembly or IRS..........??

According to this site:  https://www.cars.com/reviews/the-morning-call-and-mcallcoms-view-1420689106509/

the 1984 200SX "The rear has a solid axle and a four-link coil-spring suspension, a somewhat dated system but very effective." unless it is the turbo version which "For reasons best known only to Nissan, the rear suspension of the turbocharged version is fully independent and features semi-trailering arms, coil springs and gas-filled shock absorbers". I can't guarantee the accuracy of that information but my '79 200SX has a solid rear end with drum brakes and I parted out a '81 SX a few years ago which also had a solid rear end (and I think rear disc brakes) so it seems possible the third generation S12 200SX was also solid.

My '79 SX has rear leaf springs so my guess is it may be the easiest to mount to a 510 with leafs. The four-link system on the '84 solid axle would possibly need spring mounting points welded on but I don't know that for sure.

The first gen '77-'79 S10 200sx and the second gen '80-'81 S110 200sx with the Z20 engine both had H-165 solid axles. Only the S110 came with rear discs.

Only the '82-'83  Z22 powered S110 200sx had the H-190 solid axle also with disc brakes.

The third gen S12 200sx also had the H-190 solid axle BUT only till October of '84, then it reverted to an R-180 IRS. Only the CA20E used this H-190 or R-180. The CA18ET used an R-200.

For several years I've felt bad that I was too lazy to pull the rear end when I parted out that '81 200SX.Somehow I've always pictured it as having rear discs. I finally realize I didn't bother to get it because it had drum brakes, so why bother? I feel a lot better now!

Sometimes the info is buried Len.

Rear disc brakes.

S10 '77-'79 200sx did not have them

S110 '80-'83 200sx did have them

S12 '84-'88 200sx did have them.

Okay, I think I got it now. So I can go back to feeling bad although the reality is if I'd grabbed that rear end it would be taking up space in my shed along with everything else I got off that SX. At least I know I didn't imagine seeing rear discs on it.

Great info all, thank you!  The car is a Turbo with a bad engine, likely an R200  , but the body is so clean, might still buy & part out.  Sure wish it is an IRS R180, cuz we just don't use the R200's in our vintage race 240Z's any more!

My buddy just bought the Wagon in Cali, and is DRIVING it back here to CO as we speak!  Made it to Las Vegas so far!!
