Wrecking yards for most stuff. Auto parts stores like NAPA for replaceable items like brake shoes and pads, ball joints, thermostats, mufflers.... basically parts that wear out and are expected to be replaced. You won't find a factory tach in an auto supply store.

Robert, I sent you a PM re a fresh 720 parts truck close to you I just saw online. There’s a possibility it might have a tach?

If you’re good online and aren’t afraid of matching up parts and shipping, I also find RockAuto sells inexpensive 720 aftermarket parts like bearings, seals, suspension parts, belts, etc. But you have to buy enough from one location to make the shipping cost worth it. And you risk having to ship it back if you make a wrong choice picking your part.

Good luck.

good luck finding parts at pick-n-pull if your searching around the salinas/monterey area as i check that daily so if you have any questions locating parts I can help out if you need!

thank you guys for all the reply's and yes i try junkyards but it seems that if your not the first person there it will be very unlikely you get what you need lol

Around here a 720 goes from running and driving into the wrecking yard to a crushed frame in 3 months tops.

Yea a 86 King cab was at the pick-n-pull for a whopping 2 weeks... I went there and it was stripped of all the desirable pieces i could tell right away.(whole fuel system, exhaust, all the little nic nacs etc) tried to get the dash but I couldn't figure it out to save my life.. oh well it wasnt perfect had couple cracks but i'd rather wait for a pristine one. anything can be better than what is on right now though..

Went back 2 Sundays later and of course they move everything and I was askin the guy and but was no help. :'(

Got my wheel hub though! and tried to snatch a plastic tool box that it had but they wanted like $75 and it didn't have a key... definitely bringing the manual next time I can get a chance to wrench on one.

I was looking into covers if anyone knows about the plastic dash covers that just sit over the dash itself if anyone has a link or if they even exist, would be cool to check out.

If anyone knows about the tool boxes /camper shells on the 720s they probably know too they are a diamond in the rough. I would like to locate one for myself and if anyone knows if I can search from other trucks (d21 or the small dodge trucks) and if they have the same bed width or if they are compatible so I can keep my shit out of the cab (single cab life sucks...)

preferably the metal plated ones. It would be sweet if I landed onto one of those flat sleek covers that roll-up / lift up and can lock.

was also considering one of those contractor trucks with the flatbeds. one of those underbed boxes would fit nicely inbetween the wheel wells and i could just bolt it down or whatever.

i have an all-star bed liner in it so the inside dimensions are 53 1/2 x 72 if that makes any difference
