Question #1)

Would you buy a 510 Spook if it was formed from ABS or a similar plastic?

and to a lesser degree

Question #2)

Do the ducts need to be fully functional? IE Enclosed with a round exit for attaching a hose.

I would appreciate you thoughts and comments.

I dont think you'll have any problem selling them with open ended/non functional vents.

The majority of buyers are not going to hook up the brake ducts.

If the 1% of the people buying these and still racing the car cant figure out how to make them functional, they shouldn't be behind the wheel.

I would definitely purchase if made out of another material other than fiberglass.

Guys,

Thanks for the comments and G-Duax the PM with a manufacturer lead. I have a call in to them.

Jesse C. I've always thought that would be cool to delete the ducts.

I edited a photo to delete the ducts (and the valance openings) to get a feel for how it would look.

Definitely would be interested in plastic spook option. I've never been a fan of fiberglass spoilers with their tendency to crack and smash, especially when parking in an unfamiliar parking spot...

I have a Mk1 rabbit spoiler and whatever it's made out of is very durable.

I would love to have a cheaper alternative to the fiberglass spooks, still in the BRE style with the ducts, even if they're non-functional.

I literally eat spooks. Drive the car way too damn much and eventually meet a parking bumper, curb, or cone that just takes out a $200 piece of glass. Not fun...

Something to consider with an ABS or plastic part is painting it.

Most car bumpers today are plastic, and accept paint just fine.

They also make special plastic welding rods, and filler for them.
