VADAT
Hey everyone. I have been lurking for a few years while looking for the right Datsun to settle down with. I found a lonely little 610 down in South Carolina (east coast guy here) in CL and took the plunge. She’s a little rough around the edges but she has potential. I will post pictures soon. datzenmike
Welcome to Ratsun. Yes, for now, you will need a hosting site for your pictures... other than Photobucket. Quote Link to comment

Metatron
finally someone bought that thing, it's been for sale for like 6months Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Congrats on the purchased that's a 76 am I right? Seen it for sale for awhile too. I see another poor Datsun. That needed saved was that maxima in the background. Quote Link to comment
VADAT
Yeah. Apparently there’s not many 610 fans on this side of the country. Also, it was at a Nissan specialty shop. I am sure that Maxima will get some love eventually. Quote Link to comment
VADAT
Ok, I'm confused. I am in the process of stripping her down for rust remediation and framework, and I was planning on cutting out the windshield and rear glass. Everything I have read and from what I can see, the 610 does not have a windshield rubber gasket. YET, the parts listing that (Lars) just posted clearly lists a "rubber dom" part number 72616-P0125. As these appear to be UNFINDABLE/BUYABLE. What should I do? Cut it out and reinstall with liberal amount of silicone sealant, or try to repair around current bedding? HELP PLEASE! Thanks. MicroMachinery
There's a special type of window glue that you use; don't just use any old silicone sealant. Also, there are some clips that hold the trim on.. they're not so easy to find anymore. Quote Link to comment
VADAT
Understood. Thanks. I have been looking for the clips. Does anyone have a good supplier recommendation? Also, any suggestions on where to get the door window chrome fasteners? Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Everything I've compiled can be found in these few threads: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/21986-micros-76-610/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/45484-turtle-power/page-1 http://community.ratsun.net/topic/32716-redemption/page-1 Quote Link to comment
docbainey
Micro, it' been awhile pm me some time looking for passenger rear chrome 'J' trim. Oh and those pieces of rubber are referred to as a 'dam'. They keep the windshield at the correct height for the trim and keep the sealant from making a mess of the dashboard. Pg 253 in the factory service manual, body section. Quote Link to comment
INDY510
I used: "3M 08693 Auto Glass Urethane Windshield Adhesive Cartridge - 10.5 fl. oz." You can get it on amazon for $18 .. one tube was plenty for a windshield, but probably not enough for both front and back. Quote Link to comment
Duk610
Take car of your glass, i have a 73 2dr and am in the middle of not finding a new windshield or back quarter windows for my car. I would also condition your door seals with something, havent found alot of those either. As far as the window seal its just a thin little piece, looks more like foam tape. Quote Link to comment
VADAT
Fleabay has 2 windshields for 610 coupes for sale right now $320 plus shipping I think. FYI. Quote Link to comment
Duk610
Where on ebay did you see the windshields i cant find them. Need one so i can put my 73 on the road Quote Link to comment
Duk610
i found those windshields Quote Link to comment
Duk610
The window clips to hold the trim on apparently were used on a bunch of different vehicles, i was on a web site cant remember which one but it was selling those clips it listed datsun and ford using the same clips. hope that helps Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 610 and 710 windshield molding retainer clips were the same. They break easily so when I had my sedan painted the body guy found a GM (I think) Camaro used the same thing or was compatible. I would have to ask him but he was able to look this up somewhere. Maybe body shops have access to trim clips and retainers comparability. He bought a bag of them. Quote Link to comment
VADAT
Thanks for the info Duk. Did you get one of those windshields? Thanks Mike. I will see what looks correct. I’m also kicking around the idea of deleting the front and rear windshield stainless in lieu of rubber weatherstripping. Given that my set has damaged corners and they seem to be irreplaceable.
