Nothing happens if wired wrongly. Charge light does not work. Just swap them around.

Okay cool. Yeah I forgot to say I don’t have the plug for it anymore so I duno which is field and neutral on the alternator lol. Thank you guys for the help. You guys are awesome!

I wouldn't count on that...

The top of the T connector is the "N" (+12v), the leg is the "F" (charge/ignition lamp)

Okay. Yeah I have it wired like you said.

Btw, where in AG are you?  I grew up on the mesa...

I just moved here. I live up behind Walmart a bit.

What I found was that I had mine wired wrong for 3 years. Never had a problem with it until I got a volt gauge that told me what was really going on. When the battery got below 11 volts it would start charging until shut off. There was enough residual magnetism to 'kick start' it and even at 11 volts the battery always started the engine. Never noticed that the red charge light didn't come on with the key. I swapped the two wires and red light now works and the volt gauge shows charge all the time it's running. 2002 100 amp Altima alternator.

Pretty sure I've heard of people popping alts by having them reversed, but can't say for sure.  Either way, it's not something I would guess about when going wrong potentially means having to swap the alt again and another trip to the LAPS
