It that time of year to announce another year of Canby, Datsun's NW will have it's 13th year of Canby June 8,9 and 10th at the Canby fair grounds. Not to many changes, same early arrival and set up for campers, vendors and swap people, Sat car corral, swap meet, banquet dinner, movie night and Datsun people. Sun will be the raffle, peer voting on the show and finish up with trophies.

Entry $10 per day, so $20 for both Sat and Sun.

this is up $5 from last year.

Walk ins $3 or $5 for two

T-shirts $15

Hoodie sweatshirt $25

Sat night banquet dinner $15 per person, $10 for kids

Tent camping $25 per night

RV camping $30 per night

Vendor spot $20 for weekend

Raffle tickets $1 or 6 for $5

Unfortunately the prices for our event have gone up, the fairground no longer needs DNW to help park cars at there yearly swap meet they hold which saved us $800 on the fairgrounds rental each year, we had this perk for 11 years, insurance has also gone up considerably $600, porta potties have gone up $175. The cost of the show has been a challenge for us at DNW for the last two years.

We are always looking for volunteers to help set up, run the show and tear down. E mail Steven at Osgiken510@gmail.com with questions.

Details will be up on our site soon, hope to see you there!

Orwellian ain't it? Sort like the increase in the chocolate ration from 30 grams up to 20.

There's still room if we spoon gato.

When I go, I told you about my super secret clubhouse camping spot.

Getting close to running is all I can say at this point.

The back field area on the other side of the fence was never part of our rented area, Dave Bothwell allowed campers to start using it at some point and since the fairgrounds had never rented that area on the same weekend of our show, Laurie Bothwell who is the head director of the Clackamas county fairgrounds let it go and continued to let us use it till last year when the Renaissance fair rented it, I found this out at 2pm Friday the first day of our show last year. So as of right now I have to assume we no longer get the use of that area cause it could be rented at anytime. However the area right behind all the vendor/swap area was opened up to us, I'll just have to make sure it's mowed this year. Seemed like we fit OK last year and no one I know of used that new area.

I'm sorry but the fairgrounds only allows me to let vendors and swap people in a little early, they hold me to our contract of 4pm, if I let some in it's not fair to the others who have to wait, the people you see that I let in are my volunteers who help set up and run the show, I'm not playing favorites but I need people to set up.

Having Laurie running the fairgrounds gave Dave some perks that our club no longer has, we used to store all the Canby supplies at the fairgrounds, they are now taking up a 1/3 of my own attic cause a rented storage closet on average costs $826 a year to rent, instead of the club paying for this I decided to save the club the funds and store it myself, do I want all this crap in my attic, hell no but I do it cause that $826 goes a long way in putting Canby on. It's not what you know but who your married to in this case B)

Would you guys like me to have some of our 2017 "Do it in a Datsun" or the "Can-Bee" t-shirts and hoodies reprinted, I'd like to get a head count on these cause I really don't want old stock as they can be hard to get rid of, I think we sold out of large shirts and large hoodies in the 'Do it in a Datsun" Saturday morning. E-mail me Osgiken510@gmail.com and let me know which one you want, size and quantity. I'll see what I an do.

We never used to sell any apparel till sat morning till I took over, maybe to be more fair to everyone that comes I should go back to that, gives more people a chance to get there stuff and in the size they want?

Who used to design the shirts?

I really liked the old designs. Not being critical of the other shirts I have the 17 too, just really love my 14/15 shirts. Which I could collect the earlier designs too.

I know this stuff can be spendy.

I'd probably be down to volunteer. Not sure what you need help with.

Yeah but the good thing was we weren't the biggest bunch of weirdos in town that weekend.

All i needs is enough acreage to flop down in,,  and i'm all good

So, wait...Clackamas County Fairgrounds is charging you more, but offering half the space to use?

Um...?

Mojo510 I came to the show last year and it was great. Had a good time and thanks to everyone for the win. I am trying to come up this year again and bring some people along..

Just a idea, what JCCS does is pre registration and payment up front. What’s cool about it is you pay up front for entry and a shirt pick your size and some trinkets from sponsors. And that’s for only 1 day. To camp and to be a part of your show, charge up front and send a entry form by mail. So at 400 pm they can some what drive in with not much delays. It works very well and that’s 500 cars from all over the United States. And for shirts, sizes and payment is up front to cover all your costs. It’s a event you guys put together for people to have a good time and participate.

the pre registration worked great so you get money ahead and you have a definite amount of  t shirts and hoodies needed then you can add a percentage to that for sales

just my 2 cents

Used to be able to do that. I think a couple years before Steve took over. Less and less people were doing early registering and just showing up. I'm remember a couple times they didn't have enough classes for all the different models.
