New guy..

Recommended Posts

Hello all,I'm here to chew gum,and learn the way of the Ratsun.and I'm all out of gum ha.about 2 years ago,a friend at work came dragging up an old mini truck.i immediately recognized it as a 620 short bed.when I went out to take a closer look,I see that it's relatively clean.its a 73,few dents, big goofy mirrors, huge pickup toolbox, and filled to the brim with yard trash.now this fellow is somewhat of a no nonsense aged,(if i can make a doller)kind of guy.i asked him where he came up with this little truck? He told me that a lady who lives close to him told him that if he whould throw all the junk laying around it,in it,that he chould have the truck, with the tittle(because around here, you can't even crush one without the tittle).well I have a 13 year old son that is a mini gear head like me, who had just learned to drive.i thought, well this is a good way to teach him standard.so I asked my old buddy, what are you gonna do with that old junker? He said, cut it up and run it across the scales.so I said what do you think it will bring? He said....mabey 75 bucks.i grabbed my wallet, and pulled out a 100 doller bill, and said...here ill save you some work.he shrugged his shoulders took my money, fished the tittle out of his back pocket gave it to me and walked off.i looked the truck over pretty well at lunch time that day.it had an l16,4 speed, was quart low of oil,and no antifreeze.i was hoping it leaked out and not froze.come to find out a like minded person, the lady's son had drained the antifreeze out 17 years ago,and that's where the truck sat ever since.well my son and I got it running, dern Hitachi carb...haha and he learned to drive standard that summer.then it sat for a while, and I had the bright idea to put a v8 in it one day.ohh boy, what a journey it's been.it now has a 400 up MOPAR 318/ 904 in it.it has become an obsession.im going all out on it now,and trying not to spend money on it at the same time lol.i joined this forum to learn all I can from you good folks, rear diffs, disk brakes from what d21,ECT ect.well that's about it,thanks

The D21 Hardbody may have had a rear disc brake but the WD21 PathfindeR did. The problem is the axle is way too wide for a 620 and the axles won't swap. The rears don't do much of the stopping... the fronts do. Have a look around for a front disc brake swap. Mklotz70 and BEEBANI, members here, both make them I think.
