thanks for the swift reply guys, i have what appears to be 1ton?? leafs in the rear. i dont know too much about them, but it was a farm truck before. iv loaded a metric ton of firewood in the box and it didnt even squat a bit...

should i get heavier duty shocks or will the stock ones be alright? is there even an option?

You appear to have what looks like cab/chassis leafs with an extra piece on the overloads, I have 2 sets of them that came from dually trucks.

The set I posted a photo of were on a stretched heavy duty 720 truck with a huge flatbed and aftermarket dually rims, they were using that truck to store other vehicles on the flatbed, the leaf that goes over the axle rested on the rear bump stop when it had weight on it, it also had longer heavy duty shackles.

Is your truck a flatbed or does it have a longbox, it doesn't appear to be a dually.

Where are you located? I think I recognize that scenery.

that photo was taken on rogers pass a few years ago when the dats was still on the road. highway 1 glacier park. i live in victoria bc.

back to the original question. do you guys think the fitting, at least of the rear struts from a frontier is the difference between having the correct overall length?

Being that they are Bilstein shocks...they are going to probably be really stiff and possibly too long for your application.

Very good chance they came off a 4x4/Nismo Off-Road or a PreRunner.

Again, brand new KYB Gas A Just shocks can be had cheaper than those used ones you posted.

alright, thanks for the advice. my rear end is already really stiff, maybe because of the HD springs, maybe blown struts, ill buy some new KYB gas shocks and report back.

I might have misspoken, it's the plate in the engine compartment on the passenger side inner fender well that tells how the truck came from the factory not the VIN number, see the number that starts with an "E" below the VIN number that starts with a "J" on my ID tag in the photo below, what is that number on your plate?

My number starts with an "E" as it is a cab/chassis truck, it was sold without a box, can you get a photo of the tag on you=r truck and post it?

I just realized I am going to have to change out that rear axle as it has 460 gears in the rear, I want 437 gears.

I bought all 4 for a 521 for less than $100/shipped from rock auto.
